  • Hi feesh,

    Hello and welcome:T

    Be warned - It's very addictive!:money:
  • just an update.. heating now kicking in the mornings for a short while. ( CH temp set @18degrees) HW on E7 for an hour each day.. *plenty of HW for 3ppl all day.. appliances still on timers.. living comfortable, warm and happy for now.. darker nights- lights on more.. *led spots in kitchen are fab..(1.2watt insted of 50watt gu10's)x6 :)

still on carbon rating C, although im trying to get a B.. but not sure how much more without loosing the happy/comfy feeling and being cold... playing on the wii keeps us warm, and the heating off lol...

    38/47 MSCC

You have been taking readings for 6 weeks
Since you started measuring your total household -
Energy use is 766 kWh (Gas: 355kWh | Electricity: 412kWh)
    Carbon emissions are 288 Kg CO2 (Gas: 73 Kg CO2 | Electricity: 215 Kg CO2)
    Money Spent

How has my energy spend been calculated?
    Last week you spent:
    • £2.73 on gas
    • £8.04 on electricity
Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (6 weeks ago):
    • £12.41 on gas
    • £49.43 on electricity
** just been changing the 'Compare results with:' settings on the imeasure site.. with alot of different results.. ie..
    (All users/All housetypes) = 1/47 MSCC + C rating
    (Same number of occupants/Semi-detached house) = 8/47 MSCC + D rating
    (Households with children/All housetypes) = 41/47 MSCC + E rating
(All users/Semi-detached house) is what i have it set to...

is there a standard setting to use..?
I dont owe nothing, I own everything I have... dont do buy now pay later, dont do credit cards, dont do loans...

Hi there. We're about to have two bedrooms replastered and were thinking of spotlights of some kind. We've had the GU10s and know they would be expensive so were thinking about alternatives. Could you post a link to the LEDs? We already have three GU10s in a room where lamps are used more - do these LEDs just slot in place or did you have to change anything?

yes the LEDS just replace the old 50w 240v spots but you cant use with a dimmer, just goto the B&Q website and type in gu10 you will see the LED ones.. http://www.diy.com/

not sure they will be bright enough for a bedroom.. guess youll have to test and see..

Hmm, since I posted, I had a look around online and found a few for around £8 -£12 each. Can't be doing with them if they're not bright enough. That said, I'm fussier about light in the kitchen than bedroom because I'm in there more, well during waking hours at least! Most of the time, it would be bedside lamps on. Will have to think about this one.

Try these for LED GU10 lamps, they are the brightest and best I've found, and run them on a 'variliight' transformer.

House seems to warm up quite well during the day hence no heating requirement just yet.

Our heating is coming on in the morning but our house is warming up nicely during the day too, so it is staying of in the evening.

Thinking about buying a new thicker duvet as, find the ones we've got now, that stick together quite annoying (as they don't stay together). Then if it gets really cold we add one of the old ones to make it warmer and even use one downstairs on the setee. Think the dogs are starting to feel the cold at night but once they grow their winter coats they'll be too hot with the heating on.

    Hi all:hello:

Just read our gas meter and we are averaging about 19kwh per day in this qtr (Qtr average 66kwh), so not too bad so far me thinks:D
