A big
'cos BG are lowering their prices by 7%. This will help when i have to find a new deal in April.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8497460.stmBritish Gas has announced it is cutting standard household gas prices by an average of 7%, with immediate effect.
The price cut, which the company says will benefit eight million households, will save the average customer £55 a year, British Gas said.0 -
Nice to see a reduction. Ebico usually follow about four to six weeks later so I will get a good few weeks in. Ebico did a small cut on electricity last year if I remember correctly too so might do the same this year.0

Urgh! I just fixed with E.ON! Still, it's the chance you take when fixing.
Hope Ebico follow the reductions, A fiend for life - and setmefree2......yay! You get that better deal in Aprilreally hope you can get a decent reduction.
...and E.ON...is it too late to change my mind? LOL!0 -
Not sure oldMcDonald - I thought there was normally a cooling off period. Hope you get a good one.
btw setmefree2 good timing.0 -

No idea how much can be attributed to the new windows but this weeks consumption is down 10% on lasts :j0 -
For week ending 7th February, 2010 your household spent £21.50 in total.
Gas meter (cubic metres): £7.31 - Main electricity meter: £14.19
Gas - 163kWh ( down 56kWh on last week)
Electricity - 86 kWH (down 20kWh on last week)
Total CO2 - 78 (down 19 on last week)
Ratings A/A 4th/52
Our Electricity is higher than usual for the past 2 weeks as we have had a bit of a mould problem in one of the bedrooms, so we had a dehumidifier on pretty much 24/7 last week - but now it's just on at nights.
E.on has an Energy Tracker on their site and I'm going to enter a meter reading at the end of each month to see how we are doing. For January we are on 36.3% less usage of Gas and Electricity than we were for last January, which I'm very pleased with
Sorry the whole post is in bold - for some reason the 'B' button will not let me turn it off!

I'm on double C for last weeks gas and electricity use. This weeks is 158 kWh of gas and 20kWh of electricity. Total CO2 is 43 kg. Slightly up on last weeks.0

As I suspected we have been relegated to D/E badges following the input of the third gas meter reading:(
It has just been so cold, and living in an old detached house with little ones needs to be kept warm. We will experiment with the timer when it gets a bit warmer but for now just glad little DDs are comfy.
On a more positive note, gas use is under the 1000kwh mark for the first time. Lets hope it stays like this for next week despite the snow and cold weather forecast.:snow_laugMFiT - T2 # 64start date: 1.7.09 MFW end date: 31.10.17

Thrifty I am sure we are using more gas than previous years but if it's cold, it's cold. What can you do?
Still snowing here in London:snow_laug and no sign of springSo it'll be some time before we can turn the heating off.

I got my first E in ages a few weeks ago - a symptom of the cold winter and living on my own. My cost will be the same as last winter despite switching and price reductions. I'm not sure if you've seen elsewhere a lot of people switch their heating off between April and September though it is not clear what ages their occupants are.
This spring / summer I will try for more cold meals which I think will mean growing my own salads and veg as shop bought is so pricy.0
