Just dealing with this weeks readings (I do mine on a Tuesday evening)
Given DS has been away since Saturday, I'm surprised to find the electricity use is exactly the same as last week !!! So 4 days less of his PC (wan't on much on Saturday), 3 of which it would have been on for the bulk of the day - and the only extra I know I've used is 3 wash loads and a couple of dryer loads (he decided to dump loads of washing on me on Friday, that he needed back for packing on Saturday morning  ) I guess next weeks readings will show me the difference him being away makes more accurately.
But the big shock was my gas - it's rocketed again this last week, and is back to where it was for Christmas week. I've only had two weeks with higher useage!!!!! I know I ran it (on a low setting) for a couple of nights (was really cold and/or had washing that needed drying indoors quickly), but I've done that for several weeks in between..... guess I'm going to have to wait and see what next weeks reading is like (if it's still high I'm going to have to play with the system, with the possibility of getting someone out to look at it) before I can figure out if there's a possibility DS has finally twigged how the controls work (and is sneaking it on when he sits up after I've gone to bed)Cheryl0 -

Hope Ebico follow the reductions, A fiend for life - and setmefree2......yay! You get that better deal in Aprilreally hope you can get a decent reduction.
...and E.ON...is it too late to change my mind? LOL!
Sorry for the late reply oldMcDonald but have been out of the office a bit recently. Just catching up.
I'm afraid cooling off periods only apply when switching suppliers rather than changing tariff.
What tariff are you on? There are various T&C's which may or may not apply. If you let me know, I will find out for you.

My electric was back up again this last week too (thermostatic electric heating) compared with week before. Think it must have been colder again, should take more note of the temp.0 -

Glad you're finding the Energy Tracker useful oldMcDonald. Personally, I find it really helpful in keeping an eye on my usage.
Although the graphs are based on average daily consumption, I find they really help highlight any potential problems I might have with my usage.
The more accurate meter readings we have the better the graphs will reflect actual usage patterns. Therefore, you're right to enter readings regularly. :T
This is a fairly recent improvement to our website and it is good to know customers are using it. I'll let our website bods know, too, as they are always looking for feedback, both good and bad.

My electric took a hammering with the kids being on half term, and we went from 18 units to 24 units a day, tho i cant blame them for all the extra as its been a wet week and the tumble dryer been back on.
On the plus side least it gives me a rough idea how much our max summer usage will be as we will have replaced our ancient fridgefreezer0 -
Looks like my badges will take a hammering next week. Gas is 271 kWh and electricity is 28 kWh. Last week was a bit chillier so the heating has been on quite a lot.
I've back tracked from a healthy diet recently and am quite sure that oven chips have contributed to my electricity going up slightly - back to batch cooking potatoes.
I can't complain though as my electriciy is now 950 kWh a year but my gas has gone up to 2757 kWh. This is the same amount of gas I used for the first year of imeasure and I'm on week 31 of the second year with about 6 weeks to April 1st when the heating will certainly be switched off.
Doesn't look good for my 10:10 attempt so far.0 -
Ooops, forgot to come onto MSE with last weeks figures!
For week ending 21st February, 2010 your household spent £24.14 in total.
Gas meter (cubic metres): £7.80 - Main electricity meter: £16.34
Gas - 173kWh ( down 33kWh on last week)
Electricity - 99kWH (up 2kWh on last week)
Total CO2 - 88 (down 5 on last week)
Ratings A/A 4th/50
Our electricity rating is still much higher than I would like, we still have the dehumidifier on 24/7 and the (electric) oven has been used several times this week (I usually only use it 1xweek).
Thank you for your help and advice, EON Malc0 -
Entered readings this morning and was delighted to see the lowest reading since I started in December. 11% down on last week.
And for first time 2 C badges, usually C & D so very chuffed with that :-)0 -

Blimey!! Two Es for us this week:eek:; consumption is marginally down on last week. Did a little experiment dropping the constant temp to 18 (from 19) for two nights....it felt cold in the morning and the meter reading showed no change in units per day:mad:....oh well here we are wishing spring would come along soon.....
