Two 'C's again for me ('D' side against all users, comfortably 'B' side against all g&e detached) - so I'm well pleased with that as our useage had climbed.

Readings from me due tomorrow, but I know we're well up !! It's been sooooo cold here (since it started snowing on Thursday, which was also DS's first day off college) that the heatings been on all day since then - and I'm ashamed to admit even left it on all of last night, though I dropped the thermostat at 9pm so it was at 14 degrees (which is where it still is) rather than the 16 degrees it was running at....... Have actually found 14-15 degrees is 'do-able' if I put on a second sweatshirt (made possible as I've bought different sizes in the past :rolleyes2 )

Sorry to snip your post, but just wanted to highlight this bit.

I've been feeling really guilty every time I've turned the heating on - I'm trying to get my EON monthly DD down, so I'm desperately trying to use a lot less each month than I am actually paying for- the idea being that next time a bill comes in I can negotiate a lower amount as we will be in credit.

Don't feel ashamed (and I promise not to feel guilty ;)), it has been blooming cold!

Thanks!! Interesting I was top 5 before I entered my readings:rolleyes:. You'll be please to here I remained at no 2 after entering my readings though!!:j

I think we have reduced electricity use as far as we can now...next week may be a challenge with DD on school holidays and all those Crimbo movies.

I still can't get into the gas meter box - no screwdriver or similar implement will get in there. I suppose I can invest the £1 odd for a yellow key:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Won't be surprised if I'm C or even lower than that...so hardware store next week it is!!

Just a heads up oldMcDonald; we have an Energy Efficiency team who can help you reduce your usage. Give them a call with a list of your appliances and they will be happy to help.

Ask for a copy of a booklet called '100 ways to save money by saving energy.' It's free and has a lot of really useful tips.

Also, check out our website; particularly the winter advice bureau, interactive house, energy menu, and 10:10 campaign. Lots of good advice here, too. All designed to help save energy.

Don't know if anyone else is interested, but most of our energy saving services are open to non-eon customers at no charge. Just give us a call or have a look at the website - there is a link in my personal profile.

Hope this is of interest; give me a shout if any further info is needed as will be happy to help. :)

Just taken my readings for the week.

Electricity is up 12kWh on last week, but part of this will be down to the fact DS finished college for the holiday season on Wednesday (so an extra 2 days of his PC on Thursday & Monday, plus he stays up a lot more with his role play games when he's off)

But I could weep over my gas :( For the 8 week period from 25th Aug to 19th Oct I used a total of 366kWh. This week alone I've used 365kWh (up from 205kWh last week)

Hope everyone is having a lovely, festive time!

As expected, my figures are horrendous compared to most others and I'm back to using a plug in convector heater in the kitchen. Temperatures here have been around the -7 in the mornings, so I don't know how cold it gets during the night. It's -6 outdoors at the moment, and ranging between 13 & 15 indoors with all the storage heaters on, so not a great deal I can do about it other than throw more logs on the fire once it's lit. So here goes for this week's figures (I'm an E and F badges)

Your household's total energy spend over the last 55 weeks is £1,030.09.
For week ending 27th December, 2009 your household spent £37.30 in total.
    Electricity A Rate: £18.68
    Electricity B Rate: £3.39
    Electricity C Rate: £15.23
Plus standing charge of £1.61 per week

My weekly average has crept up and over the £20, now standing at £20.34, so I'll need to alter my 2010 budget to reflect this or else talk landlord into installing a wood burner attached to the hot water tank, as I need hot water every day for thawing out & washing all the hen & duck water dishes in the mornings.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
