You're right, I was trying to have a civil debate, but I certainly didn't get one in return, did I? So for you to be playing the "I'm upset, people are mean" card now sticks in my throat a little. You let your posts degenerate into cattiness and name calling long before anyone else.
Having said that, I'm more than happy to let the matter drop and move on. I'm not the type to hold a grudge and I wish you good luck and happiness with your dog.
MrsTine - That dog owner won't be happy about you calling the Santa Dog a Staffy!
'Tis an English Bull Terrier (and a lovely one at that.
)
I apologise for those comments but I did not repeatedly have digs and insult you . I have repeatedly asked this to drop and have been as civil as I can. I am upset by tonight yes, but I am not saying people are mean, I have simply asked for an end to it.
I too am happy to move forward from this and wish you and your pets all the best.0 -
Fine, let's all have a group hug and forget about it.
Hopefully the OP has enough information re: breed rescues and the like to help her advise her relatives to make an informed decision regarding the welfare of both dog and child.
Edit: I see you are a fellow competition enterer too. You're having better luck than me so far!

I'm addicted to entering the comps on here! I've had no wins this month but definitely can't complain as I had some good ones last month. Hope that you get some wins soon.0 -
I can't complain either because it's my own fault. I'm rubbish at remembering to do them! I enter comps madly for two or three days and then start to forget and get out of the habit. I started again this week and am determined to stick with it this time!
Time for the mutts' last walk before bed. Goodnight, all.

lol sorry about that - I did know that - I blame 7 hours in a car yesterday coupled with driving past a very nasty accident were there were fatalities

I knew what I MEANT but what I typed didn't quite match what my brain thought it was telling my fingers to write
And don't talk to me about comp entering... I keep meaning to do it again but I keep forgetting LOL And I shouldn't cos I won £1000 by sheer fluke last year in the birds eye be mortgage free comps - paid for my wedding dress and outfit. Really should do more although never won anything on the online comps...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I am sorry but I totally disagree with that statement and it is completely untrue, there have been countless cases in the news and in the papers of staffys going for kids. This might seem like a controversial statement to make but as a mother of three and my youngest being 2 years old I wouldn't trust any lockjaw or large dog with a baby or child. We have a Shih Tzu and at least I know no harm will come to my child with this dog ( Although I will add he is never left on his own with the dog). After all you never hear of Shih Tzus, Yorkshire terriers or poodles mauling anybodys kids do you? I also don't think that it is how a dog is brought up that matters, I personally think that some are capable of flipping and losing it just like that.

Any dog is capable of anything. This is an old story but still relevant. I have two Shih Tzu's and would never leave them alone with a child as I know if they wanted to, they can do damage, no matter how much I trust them.
I also beleive that there is no such thing as a bad dog, but I have seen some terrible dog owners.0 -

Actually in 2004 (not sure about current years) there were more dangerous dog complaints about yorkshire terriers and cocker spaniels than any other dog.
Due to the staffies look they are more attractive to careless owners, they are the modern day rottweilers, another fantastic dog if in the right hands. This is NOT their fault. As a breed they are actually very loyal but this means they are easily led in the wrong direction. This is probably another reason why they're popular with unsavoury characters.0
