And before anyone says -yes it is cruel to make your dog wear PJ's, but I asked him first and he was ok with it! xx:rotfl:You cant have everything; where would you put it?Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.280 -

I am sorry but I totally disagree with that statement and it is completely untrue, there have been countless cases in the news and in the papers of staffys going for kids. This might seem like a controversial statement to make but as a mother of three and my youngest being 2 years old I wouldn't trust any lockjaw or large dog with a baby or child. We have a Shih Tzu and at least I know no harm will come to my child with this dog ( Although I will add he is never left on his own with the dog). After all you never hear of Shih Tzus, Yorkshire terriers or poodles mauling anybodys kids do you? I also don't think that it is how a dog is brought up that matters, I personally think that some are capable of flipping and losing it just like that.

I dressed my DD up as a christmas angel and eddie (the dog) as a reindeer for homemade christmas cards last year! He's also been an elf and regularly wears a jumper and scarf in the winter ( he suffers on and off with a skin condition, so its mostly to keep him warm - honest!!).
Bless em, they put up with so much dont they?
Just been outside to feed my neighbours cat and had to climb over a very large wall in the process. I propped a chair against the wall so that I could get over, fed the cat then heard a massive crash. My fat !!!! of a cat had jumped on the seat and knocked it over leaving me stranded on top of the wall! Good job it was dark otherwise the neighbours would have been laughing their socks off as I struggled to get down (I am pregnant!). Must get a gate put in!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:You cant have everything; where would you put it?Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.280 -

I cannot believe how petty this thread has become from someone who clearly knows very little indeed about dogs. It is a great shame as this naivety has lead to hundreds of staffs being abandoned as people are reading sensationalised newspaper headlines about them.
A labrador is larger and stronger than a staff, and many many people keep these dogs with children.
My own dog is very large, and is a cross with one of the larger types of dog that has already been mentioned here as being vicious, but is mainly lab.
My dog would never hurt a person. However I would never leave a child alone with him, regardless of what breed he is. My main concern with my own dog is his sheer size and the fact that he likes to sit on people's laps (which could hurt a child) and also the fact that he likes to lick people, which might scare a child. However some lovely dogs are scared but children poking them etc, so they might snap if a child did this. This does not make them a bad dog.
We "test" our dog, by taking his food from him when he is eating, stroking him with he has a bone, waking him up from sleep etc, and he never reacts. He also loves children and seems to be calmer around them, maybe as he knows they need to be treated more gently as they are smaller than him?
Anyway the point is that the breed of a dog alone cannot be used as an indicator to temperament, especially in crosses (which technically all staffs are). The dog itself is the best indicator to this.
My dog is a great big dozy idiot and wouldn't hurt a fly, but he has a breed in him which some consider dangerous. The fact is, my dog is a family pet, who lives with us, does not guard and is trained well. He is not a "hardman" dog at all, and we are responsible owners. It is unfortunate that some dog owners have felt it necessary to bring down the names of certain breeds just because they look "hard".
Any dog can bite, any dog can be a great family pet.
can you give my doggy back now you have finished boasting about him :rotfl:
I have to do all that too - I have a baby & 4yr old living with us & will never leave them alone - not that doggy gives me a chance - he has his name for a reason I think-I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -

Cute!!!!!!!!! I would post the pic of mine in OH's Liverpool shirt but I can't find it in the picture files.
Is your dog fully grown in this pic? It has really big paws!
Very very cute indeed!0 -
That is such a good picture. I tried mine out in a similar outfit, but she kept eating the fur, so it only stayed on long enough to take the picture. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
