I got mine from Ideal World - and bought the two cookery books at the same time. They really are a great help - far better than the leaflet that comes with the machine.

The guy who writes them is actually dyslexic, so he makes sure that they're very simple to follow with step-by-step instructions.

I didn't know that they'd now made them 'downloadable' - does anybody know if you have to pay for them? Seems a bit odd if they now 'free' as they normally cost £9.99 each :undecided.

I suspect the downloadable one isn't the one you pay a tenner for as it's only got 18 pages!

I think it's just an electronic version of the free one that comes with IW halovens?

It's a good starting point for anyone who bought a haloven that came without a recipe book.

  • Just bought a halogen oven yesterday at aldi, they were selling them at half price £14.99. I was just wondering how much energy they use compared a normal oven? I have a fan assisted range cooker at the moment which seems to eat electricity:eek:
Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Hi, i hope someone can help, over the last few days when i switch on my JML halogen oven it has been making a siren type noise. If i lift the handle then press it down again all is well, is my oven dying?? :(

Does it stop when the fan stops? Could be dry bearings, not sure what you can do about it though.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

I put them in the halogen on the wrack so they are higher and then wack up the heat to 200c and let them cook through. Job done.
    Ant.
  • Hi not sure where to put this...

But anyway, I've got a chicken to cook, fresh carrots, pearl potatoes, gravy and stuffing- BUT I only have a halogen cooker and a single plug-in hob. I know how to do the chicken, but how to do the rest? Wasn't sure if I could put carrots in with chicken or boil them on hob? And same for stuffing/gravy?

    Oh and yorks pudding! :O

Only other thing I've got is microwave. Any tips?

And any help with carving a chicken up? This is my first roast dinner though have done bits in past, so not a novice but not an expert either, especially with halogen cooker!

Need to cook today so please help as soon as you can :) Thank you!
Up and onwards to the future!
