I'm not so concerned about it going wrong - I'm more interested in the value of the 3-year guarantee, i.e. how easy or difficult is the process of claiming under it if things do go wrong.0

I had a hd DVD player from aldi that went wrong after a few months. I took it back and they gave me a full refund. I've heard they are very good with their guarantees but I dare say it depends on the value of the product. I'm sure the 40" plasma tv they sell would have to go for repair first before refunding money but anything under £50 I would think they'd replace or refund0 -
Bought computer off them a few years ago and had a problem with, called them and they picked it up from the house.
Delivered back after repair. Cannot fault them.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Has anybody else noticed their halogen oven lid has rusted?
I bought my halogen oven in Spetember 2011 and had to change the bulb for the first time last week. I never really look at the working part on the underside of the lid to be honest - only the glass around it to keep it clean.
The coating on the metal cage that protects the bulbs is blistered and has come away (presumably into our food) and when I took the cage off under the bulb on about half of the metal plate the rust is thick and drops off when touched.
I've called the company this morning to see what they can do as the oven is under warranty, but has anyone else experienced this?
Did I do something wrong? I couldn't have got to the part that's the most badly rusted to clean as I'd have to unscrew the cage protecting the bulb...?0 -

I have just had a good look at mine and it is fine. Got it in April 2010 from IW (hinged lid). I keep the lid up after using for a couple of hours or so to make sure there is no condensation but no idea if this makes a difference. Hopefully you can get a replacement."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety". - Benjamin Franklin0 -
Mine doesn't have a hinge and I don't have the countertop space to leave the lid out on its stand, so I've always had to put it back on.
If I have to get another one I think I'll spend the extra on one with a hinged lid like you have.0 -

I've said on this thread before I've never got along with my oven so it's used once in a blue moon for baking potatoes. With this in mind its usually stored in the outside porch which is cold and houses the tumble drier. This means its often damp in there. My oven came from TJ Hughes and shows no sign of rust or pitting anywhere.
Part of me hopes it did then I could get rid of the flipping thing and gain a bit of room back0 -
Glad I've seen this thread. We have a built in oven that just broke. How it's built in, fixing it and getting a new oven will cost a lot. Also most people I know to help are not available till after Christmas. So this CookWorks Halogen oven was the only option really. Glad to see it does roast dinners rather well. Only 2 of us on Christmas.
Bit of advice how do some of you cook roast chickens and rost potatoes? Also do I need to buy extra tray for the oil? I have seen a few youtube clips cooking a roast which helps but also good to ask other opinions.0 -
I use a couple of rectangular pyrex dishes when I do roast in the halogen. Works well.

I just put my chicken on the low rack 'upside down' to start it off for around 20mins - then on it's left side for another 20mins - then it's right side for 20mins - then a final turn right way up to finish off for a final 20mins. Depending on the size of the chicken, it's usually fully cooked by then
.
Oh by the way - I'd put the Extension Ring in when doing chicken - otherwise it's way too close to the heating element.0
