The Igenix is tempting me now

I have ordered this, Tefal products seem to get good reviews.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TEFAL-Black-Stainless-Steel-8-in-1-Multi-Cooker-BRAND-NEW-FREE-POST-/320982208029?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Kitchen_Steamers_Cookers_PP&hash=item4abc07ce1d#ht_863wt_754

    cheaper from other retailers

nannygladys that what I should have done, have a huge problem with fruit and veg going bad in the fridge, organic courgettes went bad, normal ones still seem to be ok.

    Hi All,

ive been considering getting a Tefal Actifry and then saw this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200794056449?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

which is kind of a actifry and halogen combined, the main reason is I want healthy chips (that dont taste like cardboard!) I was wondering how good just a normal halogen is for cooking chips, as Im not a big fan of oven chips, so the idea of cooking in just a little oil appeal to me.
Are they any good for cooking normal homemade chips in a bit of oil, or am I best looking at this Igenix or the actifry?

    Cheers, John

I do 'chips' of a sort in my halogen.

Not quite the same a proper deep fried chips but way better than frozen oven chips.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

Claire, I haven't cooked a whole chicken in mine (also Andrew James) and I do vegetables in the microwave so can't help, but didn't want to leave you with no replies.

Claregre (above) said around 55 mins on 190 but not sure what size that is - treat it as medium and revise time down for small or up for large, is what I'd try.

Edit: There are some good you tube videos on cooking a whole chicken in a halogen and there's bound to be one showing how to do veggies with it as well.

Don't be scared of your halogen, they're great!

Joe L, I always stand the lid on the provided stand, so that the bulb isn't kept damp by condensation. There's no sign of rust yet after a year's daily use.

Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

I'm considering buying this from Aldi too - it certainly appears to be a rebadged JML. I have read some very poor reviews about the JML bulb blowing/lid going rusty, so wonder if the Aldi one is likely to suffer the same problems. I'm not over-concerned because of the 3-year guarantee but can anybody tell me if they have had occasion to return items to Aldi under a guarantee, how straight forward is it? Can a faulty item be returned to the shop or does it have to be sent away?

I've had a JML for almost 2 years and had no problems with it.
