And praise is better on the 'Five Star Ratings Board', under Vent, Bent and Heaven sent.' That is, if it is genuine, which I very much doubt.

As I commented elsewhere before they took their feedback down:

"If one looks in detail at their feedback on eBay I now realise that poor and non-existent correspondence with buyers is commonplace for ... I think they are manipulating their feedback score by having those leaving negative feedback to remove it so it doesn't show up in the total (I don't know how or why). Also when someone does leave negative or neutral feedback, their response is very aggressive - 'acid' feedback in response. Hence although their feedback score is stated to be 99.9% positive, if once actually looks at say the last 25 detailed feedbacks it can be seen that 7 are negative even if the negative mark (though not comment) has been removed, giving a 72% positive score. It is also worthy of note that 4 of the positives are for 1 pence items."

    Which I later updated with:
"Since eBay’s change in policy so that sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers, Wessex Teak's true feedback score seems to be becoming revealed. Although this new policy has only been in place for a week or so already the figures of feedback are showing much a much greater negative feedback response from buyers of Wessex Teak's goods, i.e. 37 negatives and 10 neutrals in the last month (http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=wessexteak1&ftab=AllFeedback&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:SFS&iid=370044527081&item=370044527081&frm=1883)
Until yesterday one could see on examination of the feedback comments that the vast majority of positive feedback that had been received was for 1 pence or £1 items with almost all purchasers of substantive items (mostly £250+ furniture sets) leaving negative feedback."

    And most recently:
"If one looks at their feedback for the last month (under their changed eBay user name of sunshinestateforever) one can see that they have received 77 negatives and 10 neutral comments out of a total of 197. I suspect, as previously mentioned, that the positive comments relate to 1 pence items, though one can no longer tell as they have now hidden the console where the item to which feedback relates could have been seen and the detailed comments read."

Thanks guys. I'm a little unsure as to why Wessex Teak would bother to come here and post if they've effectively given up under that name on eBay (which must be the case if their feedback is now private - few would buy expensive items from a private seller).

Good to see those feedback changes are, at least in some cases, working as intended.

I asked Wessex teak sales support why they are no longer trading on Ebay and got this response:

We no longer sell on ebay due to the difficulties in delivering to customers who were holding the ‘negative’ gun to our heads
Ebay has changed a lot (not for the better!) since starting on ebay 4 years..
Please feel at absolute ease and buy with confidence from our website and call us if you wish

Ah, I see, they *are* trying to protect the name and sell under it off-eBay.

Shame they didn't resolve the OP's problem rather than setting up two "happy customer" IDs here.
  • easy to complain but noone really bothers to praise.place order on wessex teak website for large set of teak garden furniture at end of may
received the set of garden furniture last week and absolutely delighted.real quality stuff
told all my friends, one already ordered a bench!:rotfl:

Your friends will really thank you, I'm sure. The owner of Wessex Teak said to me last week (after me chasing a refund since February 08!) that all Ebay buyers are scum. Now, I'm not sure whether I like this sort of customer service but you apparently do. Wessex Teak are such a good company that they have Essex police and Trading Standards knocking at their door. Oh, and if you have received a delivery, wait 12 months and then see what you've got.

12065 happy customers it would appear.

Is this where the MSE forum tries to put someone out of business because of a few screamers and clowns?
