Hello everyone:hello: Long time, no see!!

Sorry for my prolonged absence - I went into meltdown with work and threw the towel in last week!!!! It has really been getting me down, and while it's not exactly comforting to be without an income it has meant that I can get my nose to the grindstone and get on with applying for jobs which may make use of my skills. Wish me luck!!

Haribo - I did see that poor wee Parsley has slipped away. I'm so sorry to hear that. Grumpy or not she was your little friend and I know how big a space our kitties take up in our hearts.

r.mac - gosh you're having a baby!?! Congratulations!! You've been through a whole love story since you became an MSEer - I remember you first mentioning that you had met someone new and that you quite liked him...

Pink - I'll be in Belfast tomorrow if you'd like to accompany me to scoff some coffee and cake (or sausage roll cos you're a savoury type of gal).

AussieLass, how is your sister? Hope all is well.

I know there is tons more news which I haven't kept up on so please forgive me for not mentioning those who have been through some horrible times.

Well, I hope to be a bit more of a frequent visitor now that I'm a Lady of Leisure. Be good you lot!!

    Afternoon.

Miss Twit sends her thanks for all the birthday wishes :happylove

I've been at work this morning and just grabbing a quick 15 mins on here whilst I eat my lunch. No idea what's for tea yet, as Mr Twit is still working away, I'll let Miss Twit decide what she fancies, she doesn't usually get a say.

Pen-Pin, so pleased to hear that you are ok and that the lid did it's job.
Aussie, hope your sister is recovering well.
Catowen, not seen you for a few days, is everything ok?

Hugs to all those in need.

Love to all The Twit. :grouphug:

Hi snowy, well done on making a difficult decision, but from reading your posts, work was not enjoyable and as we spend so much of waking hours at work, it should at least be tolerable, hope you find something soon.

HI all - just woken up from a nap; I'm catching up on sleep I lost when I was ill!

(((Hugs))) to all those having difficult days, Beth, PenPen (thank goodness for the helmet!) and anyone else suffering with illness or poorly family members.

Welcome to Lesley - I hope you like it here.

Charlie's Mum - so glad you've got the shoes and bag for the wedding!

I picked up my newly-heeled shoes from the menders and asked how much it would cost to have my favourite winter boots heeled and soled - £16!!! I told DH thinking he would agree with me that it's way too much but he said it's worth it if the 'uppers' are still good for a few more years (which they are) and if I like the boots (which I do; I love them!) and to think how much they would cost to buy brand new. So I will be taking them in there soon.

Still feeling a bit groggy today which hasn't been helped by DH having a gap between jobs so he has decided to start work on replacing the rotten front door and doing up the porch! So, it's not exactly peaceful here right now! I just hope no-one asks him to do any jobs until the porch is finished. That has happened so many times before - he starts a job on the house and then has to leave it, usually for months and months, before he finishes it! He has been warned!

He's probably going away at the end of the month for a week or two. His brother has a house in the South of France and is laying a patio around his swimming pool which, not being very practical, he can't get right; the French tradespeople keep letting him down so he's asked DH to go! He has emailed photos of it to us and DH has worked out what to do from them but his brother is not confident enough to do it on his own. He is insisting on paying for the week's work and for DH's costs in getting down there. Neither of them can understand why I don't want to go but I just want to have some peace and quiet here and there's lots I can get on with if I have some time to myself. I'd be so bored out there while they are working and will spend my time better here. Besides, they haven't seen each other since before Christmas so it will do them both good to spend some time together. Anyway, I think we are booking the ferry for him tonight. Also, from 4th to 6th July is my future DIL's hen 'do' and twelve of us girlies are going to a holiday cottage in Tavistock for the weekend and I'd miss that if I went to France!

Anyway, I'd better go. Have just cooked Tarragon Chicken which we are having with spiced saute potatoes and salad, followed by fresh pineapple (66p at the Co-op at the moment!)

Will catch up with you all later.

Afternoon all - did an early bunk form w*rk to pay a cheque into the bank - good job I did as I couldn't find my card when I got there so have ordered a new one.

Pen-Pen - that helmet is now beggared so don't risk wearing it - I thought I was going to have to chain up dd's bike for a bit when her father, of all people, said she looked like s stoopid mushroom head in her helmet. He was informed that she would look even more stoopid with concussion or worse.

Isn't it lovely with lots of new faces and some MIA's turning up again
Snowy - how brave and exciting for you
Mrs Mix - sorry you had such a hard time Sunday
HJ - your vet sounds like a keeper - that was so kind of them

Next weekend is the first free one I've had in a while so I tried to book a campsite in salisbury. D'oh forgot it's the sumer solstice so everything booked up unless I want an all-singing all-dancing electric pitch. Will have to stay home in any case now and wait for my card to come.

Tea tonight will be a Bonanza of Yellow-Stickered Frozen Things to accompany the football. i will be attempting to re-enact last night's death defying feat of listening to one game while watching another.

    have a good afternoon

    Hi all,
I have booked flights to Valencia to see DB1, first time I will see him since he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer 1 month ago. He and SiL are having a big party on Sat. Am looking forward to seeing him.

Phoned DB2 as he has more results re- Melanoma, unfortunately it is progressive. He has 37 moles on his body and they have gotten bigger, I thought it was more like 9 he had.

Dr. noticed his fingers are wider at the tips than at the hand part, so phoned hosp to have him go for a chest x-ray tomorrow at 10.30am. DB asked what the connection was Dr said there may be a Lung or Cardiac problem. Is this something else he has. Dear God I hope not.

I feel torn as I want to be with both of them. I want to be with DB1 as he will enjoy his party and he really wants us to be there.
I want to be with DB2 as since his wife, for 24yrs, left a year ago he has deep depression. I wanted to visit him last w/e but he didn't want to see/talk to anyone. Seems like he is retreating into his shell.

I love both brothers so much. My Sis has sailed through life with the soul intention of doing the worst to people, being as cruel as she can, cause the most hurt, and never had a days illness. DH and I have tried so much to help her but she Shat on us, again. Just doesn't seem fair. I wouldn't wish her any ill health but it always seems to happen to the guduns.

Anyway thanks for letting me sound off.

We managed to empty the house to-let of a fridge, sofa, armchairs, 3chests of drawers, wardrobe, 3 beds, and a bookcase. We hand the keys over tonight even though they don't officially move in untill Sat.

Sorted out some hol clothes, didn't take long as I found I have nothing to wear. DH mowed the lawn and put garden furniture away. Have checked on friends house as they are due back from hols tomorrow, put milk and bread in fridge for them.

Have emptyed fridge by using veg for a ratatooo-ee, with new pots and salad. Have made a casserole out of the pork leftover from Sun, Smoothied fruit and now both in freezer. Right I'm off to do arms, legs etc, have a bath, Pedicure and a glass of wine. Not in that particular order.

Sorry, to all I normally mention but my mind is a total fog, so HUGS to every one of our group, and yes that does include YOU xx

    Hiya Everyone

I've had a good day today :j Charlies Mum is lovely. It was really nice to meet a fellow OSer and especially to go and have a coffee - this is the first time since I moved up here that I have met anyone for coffee - makes me feel like a grown up :rotfl:

Since I got back I have filled in another bit of the application form I started yesterday, but am wondering if the application form is stressing me out, is it the job for me

Glad to hear your helmet saved you PEN PEN

Only me here for tea tonight, was going to have salad. Have found an empty punnet hidden in a basket in the bathroom, seems that while we were out buying plants on Saturday, DSD ate a whole punnet of cherry tomatoes while she was having a bath, I don't mind her eating them but wish she had told me

Off to have a look in the freezer to see what takes my fancy.

Beth - sorry to hear the latest news re your DB2 xxxxx
whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Oh, Beth - it's such a sad situation all round. There's only one of you, though, although your sister could have been so much help rather than causing you even more heartache. Go and see your DB in Spain; he's having a party and it wouldn't be the same without you, I can tell. I know it won't feel like a holiday but you could do with a change from everything you've been going through at home and make your DB1 happy at the same time. DB2 will probably be longing for you to visit him once you have spent time with DB1 to catch up on things. I hope there is no more bad news about DB2. (((Hugs))) to them both, and you.

STEF - you must have been SO angry with him calling your DD that; I can't understand why cycle helmets haven't been made compulsory. It would solve a lot of aggro for parents and ensure that no child put itself at even greater risk. This Government loves making laws that don't make sense and completely ignores something that would be guaranteed to save lives.

Well, we're just waiting for DS2 to come round after work for his dinner - we're feeding him while his bride-to-be is away! And doing his shopping, now, as well! He texted me to get him some milk while I was out!

    See you later.
