Good morning all
Haven't posted for a wee while for various reasons. Had a good night's sleep last night (only just woke up) and feel better for it as I had the beginnings of a migraine when I went to bed last night.
No w**k today but DS has orthodontist's today. I'm hoping it one of his last few visits. Then it will be DD's turn. Just waiting for the call-up for her. Not too much to do as I got all the bedsets changed at the weekend and most of the housework. Living room needs hoovering and the kitchen floor needs washing but other than that, I can have a lazy day if I choose. :j
Got a HUGE bag of oranges for 50p in Sainsbugs yesterday so have printed off a lemon drizzle cake recipe and will sub an orange for the lemon. Might make an orange sorbet with the rest. Chicken is defrosting for dinner tonight so that would be the main course and dessert sorted.
Catznine I made a list too this week. I was feeling quite down and made a list of my achievements so far this year to cheer me up. It worked well.
mioliere my mother uses her George Foreman all the time - she raves about it to anyone who will listen. I know there are loads of OSers who love their remoska though.
SuesySue you have definitely had a busy time of it recently. Hope things settle down once you move.

Do you ever wonder if you have forgotten to pay something because there is too much money in your bank account? I have been feeling like that lately. I keep checking my spreadsheet to make sure all my bills are there and my online banking to make sure they are paid but I still have more money than I expect. I've come to the conclusion that it is purely down to me thinking more before putting something in the trolley at the supermarket. I have checked my statements and my supermarket visits are definitely for smaller amounts. It's amazing how quickly it all mounts up. DS and DD haven't complained about what we have in the cupboards so there can't be much of a difference in the quality of the stuff I am buying. :T Every extra penny is going into my savings account for our holiday next month and after that it will be going into a savings account for some work that I need doing on the house.
Well, I've waffled on long enough. Off to have my breakfast - toast and beans with tea. Have a tremendous Tuesday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hello everyone:hello: Back from my long weekend which was fantastic. The weather was lovely (:p
to the weather forecasters!) so I only needed my warm weather clothes, and brought loads back unworn.
I've already got the washing done, and with very careful pegging and hanging out on hangers, not everything will need ironing.:D As it's still nice weather I thought about cleaning the windows today, but I'm sort of having second thoughts:rotfl:
Mioliere, my DSis-in-law we were away with suffers dreadfully with hayfever. Really irritated, painful eyes, along with sore throat, heavy head etc.
I want to do some more gardening today, moving a few plants around. DH says it's because our house is too small to rearrange the furniture, so I just rearrange the plants instead;)
I've not caught up fully with the days I was away, but did pick up on Parsley's passing, Haribo. I'm glad the end was gentle for her, what lovely vets to do home visits. Much kinder. ((((hugs))))) to you all, and belated Birthday greetings to Dtwins:D
Nice to see you posting Anniebooklover. Well done on the spending or should I say saving? That will be a nice bonus for your holiday.
Smokybabe, how are you doing? ((((hugs)))) and to anyone else who wants one.
Best get started, third thoughts are those windows really do need doing, *sigh*... do I love cleaning windows, not:rotfl:

Can't believe I forgot to say, I finally got a yellow stickered bargain at my Sainsbugs, a piece of beef half-price!!!!! We're having that tonight. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Took loaf of bread out of the breadmaker at 6.45 a. m. and had some toasted for breakfast.
Made bread rolls last night and DD had one for a packed lunch.
Will try to go to Sainsbury later for their "2 for £2" milk as we are nearly out of fresh milk and the long life stuff is not good enough for DDs!
I know what you mean about checking bank account, ever since I have stopped just popping into supermarket every day we seem to be better off.
Just about to get in shower before DD beats me to it and might go out with her to Leeds later.
Hugs to everybody and see you later."This site is addictive!"

My weight loss is still on track i have lost 10% of my starting weight and finally lost 1.5 stones at last nights weigh in, which im over the moon about, we have another busy few weeks coming up, sports days, residental school trips, visits to new secondary school, football tournements the list goes on, but thats the way i like it busy busy, plus iv manage to arrange a husband and child free trip to my mother in laws in 2 weeks for a girly night out with MIL and sister in law which im looking forward too!!!

morning all,
I'm having a really difficult week and could really do with some encouraging words today. The credit crunch has claimed my daughters business, her turnover is 25% of what it was in January and she can't keep it together any longer. She will lose her home in the coming months and Sunday I was helping her clear out the business premises. It was all pretty vile and at the end of a crappy weekend, I didn't improve it by lapsing on my diet with big bars of comfort food if you know what I mean. Slimming didn't feel very important right then.
Felt more able to manage my eating yesterday and then DD rang, all excited and said that her BIL had rung her and said that there were loads of job opportunities in Dubai (where he lives) and that she and her OH were investigating relocating over there.
I would never stand in her way but the thought of them being hundreds of miles away with my 6 month grand daughter that I have fallen in love with is just tearing me apart and I'm feeling very weepy writing this.
my own business meant we had to downsize in a huge hurry in Dec06 and I'm still clawing my way out of the fallout from that.
oh and there's other historical stuff that's rearing it's head saying 'remember me' while I'm feeling low.
This week can only get better!!0 -
Hello everyone, well I roasted the goose last night for tea, (I had to defrost it to make way for more bargains in the freezer), I have to say it was gorgeous. Had mash with it and peas and everyone tucked in for seconds.
Still got quite a bit of meat left so need to find a recipe for leftover goose, anyone any ideas?
Being a good oldstyler I saved the fat from the roast and also rendered down the fat from inside the bird and will put in jars for roasting the best roast potatoes in the world.;):D
So done a wash, need to hang it out, got a dentist appointment in a mo so have a bit of spare time this morning.
Hope everyone has a lovely day, hello to everyone and hugs to those who need them.:hello:DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Good morning everyone! Bit of a late one for me. I wasn't going to post, as it's a w*** day, but I fell off my bike into the road and ended up in A&E    I'm just a bit grazed, and will have some amazing bruises  but apart from that I'm fine. The 18yo who stopped and took me to hospital was amazingly calm, and very impressive. The hospital staff were brilliant :A My boss collected me from hospital and though I insisted on coming in to w*** she's sat me in a corner and made me promise not to overdo it
I hit my head on the road, but my helmet absorbed all the impact :T I'll be buying a new one asap
Welcome and ((((hugs)))) to Lesley Gaye

Hi Y'all, bright, sunny and breezy here in the emids.
I've been pottering around this morning gathering bits for the weekend. I am working at the church Summer Fayer on Saturday and have been assigned to the "This & That Stall". This basically means I'm selling all the raffle prizes that people won last year and didn't want:rotfl:Who says we Methodists were behind the door when they invented recycling:D.
Lets hope we raise enough to prop up the sanctuary floor befor it collapses with us all standing on it:eek: Or at least enough for shin pads and skid lids should we plummet to our deaths half way through Crimmond:D (actually it is only a 2 foot drop so a couple of cushions would do)
Washing is out and I'm off to work in a mo (loving this late start!). Better rootle around the freezer for something to leave in the sun to defrost while I'm out.
N9eav - hope you feel better soon
Hugs to all
