I hit my head on the road, but my helmet absorbed all the impact :T I'll be buying a new one asap

    Penny. x

I'm gonna get the MATHLETTS to read this when they get back from school.

The older two refuse to wear skid lids because none of their friends do and they get the rip taken out of them. The result is I have chained their bikes up and they have not been allowed to ride them for over 6 months and will never ride them again if they don't don a lid

Well done Pen Pin for setting a good example - hope you are not to shaken up and have a great day at the Yellow belly Show tomorrow:cool:

Have vacumed round moped floors, 2 lots of washing, made 24 fairy cakes, and a coconut cake (trying to use eggs up), just debating with myself: mow the lawn or not  , could leave it to OH tonight and pretend I have been really busy all day :D;)

    Good morning all,
I've been up since 4.31am and am so tired today, Elizabeth was doing so well over the last few weeks at sleeping right through the night from around 7pm 'til 7am but the last couple of nights have been 5am and today 4.30. Im hoping it is just because she has a slight cold because i am so tired.
She is asleep now and the toddler is sat watching cbeebies so i have some peace and quiet.
Have the bedding in to wash (5 lots) and have also tidied up downstairs so at least i feel like i have done something. In need of some serious motivation to tackle the master bedroom due to it becoming a dumping ground for the past few months, hopefully will at least make a start on that later.

N9eav - sorry to hear you are feeling unwell, you should start to think about seeing the Dr since it has been going on for a while xx
Stressedoutmum - Remember to grab some quality time at home to destress even if it's just a 1/2 hour in a huge bubble bath with a book it should really help xx
Charliesmum - good luck on the weigh in xx
Metherer - Good luck for tonight (not that you'll need it) xx
Anniebooklover - Well done you for having more money in the bank than you thought, Im exactly the same i worry more if our money is going up instead of down, strange isn't it?
Dlb- Welcome back, there seems to be so many at the moment returning to the boards for one reason or another (me included) xx
Lesley Gaye- Huge hugs to you and your daughter, I'm sorry to hear your grandaughter may be moving away Thank god for the internet, it may be worth investing in a webcam and then at least you could see and speak to her daily, Its not ideal but it may help xx
Penpen- long time no see hugs to you xx

Hugs and waves to anyone i have missed xx

Baby awake will look in on all you delinquents later xx

    Morning all

Glorious day here in Kent today...well in this bit at least.

Penpen - Hope you're not too shaken - how nice of the 18 year old to take you to hospital too. I must admit my kids aren't allowed on their bikes without helmets - it's an either you wear it - or you don't ride it rule here.

Hugs to all in need - I've not been keeping up to date with the thread so not sure who's doing what/where/when.

DH is away for a few days "ooop north", he's not a happy bunny and has an interview on Friday for a job a lot closer to home with no travelling....it's a bit of a drop money wise but it's costing us a fortune for him to drive the 110 miles a day round trip to work.....any drop in wages will be offset against the lower petrol and maintenance costs for the car.

I've sorted the recycling this morning, scrubbed out the dustbins and the recycling boxes and swept the patio down, had a bit of a tidy in the garage and pulled a few weeds. Cleaned the downstairs windows inside and out and washed all the hard floors, bathroom had a quick swish and swipe but the shower cubicle got a good going over and is now sparkly again (not for long with the hard water here).

We've been told DD2 stands a good chance of a grammar placement at the same school as DD1 but only if she really puts in lots of effort on her maths, so we've hired a tutor for her as they've moved the entry tests forward from January to this September....Her basic maths is really good she just doesn't seem (along with the rest of the class (( but that's a seperate issue we're taking up with the school)) to have been taught in any depth, some of the maths problems she's coming up against now. Both sets of grandparents have offered to pay for the tutor so we said "yes please!"

Tuna pasta bake for dinner tonight - got lots of fruit to use up so will make a fruit salad for pud.

Hope you all have a great day.

catznine - I'll give you a run for your money with those lists

Hugs to betheebee sounds like you need a slice of cake, a cup of tea and a big hug

Pen-Pen so sorry to hear about your accident, but veyr glad that you are feeling ok and have such an understanding boss. get that new helmet quick :D

math great to see you  I think that showing the mathlets Pen-Pen's story is a great idea :D Unfortunately my husbands friends father wasn't as prepared as Pen-Pen and when he was knocked off his bike there was no helmet to take the impact and he is still in a coma 4 months on.....

well, sickness returned yesterday, but seems to be at bay today. Everything seems to make me exhausted though.....

My dad is coming for dinner so trying to get organised for that. It's going to be roast chicken and trimmings, so it'll be chicken soup and leftovers tomorrow!

managed to clean the bedroom and bathroom yesterday, so todays task is the kitchen.

If I have any energy left, then it's going to be cake making in the new kenwood :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
:jJust popped back to have a Proud Mum moment! My ds (30) has just let me know that today he has cleared the last of £20,000 of debt that had gathered since his uni days. It took him 5 years of sticking to a budget and snowballing the debts but he has finally done it and is now free of them:beer: It can be done!:j:j:j:j

    Morning all,
I dont know if this has been done before and please feel free to move the thread if it is felt needed.
I know personally that i am rubbish at sticking to a meal plan for any more than a couple of days, resulting in me not knowing what i fancy on a particular day, so i end up ordering takeaway or buying a Tesco finest ping meal.
Using a pregnancy and baby website whilst pregnant with Elizabeth we used to tell each other what we were having for dinner that night, it always used to make me want what someone else was having and 9 times out of 10 i'd have the ingredients at home to make it therefore saving me ordering takeaway.
If recipes were needed they would be on hand daily and even if i didnt fancy or have the ingredients that day i could do it the next.
Not sure if it would help anyone else but it would deffinately help me.
The grass is always greener and all that, i have no idea what our family is having for tea tonight.
What are you lot having? I bet by the time i have to do the school run i have decided to have the same as one of you.......

    Leigh xx

Hehe. I know what you mean about sticking to mealplans, but I do do my best. There is a weekly meal plan done on here, but not sure what day it starts.

Tonight, me and bf are having kebabs (they were £2 in the Tesco barbecue section a while ago) and spicy tomato rice (I got the recipe off someone one here yesterday).

    Hi Heavenleigh,

That is one of the reasons why the daily thread came about.......to talk about what we were making for dinner and get inspiration from others. So I'll add your thread to the daily.
