OS Daily Tuesday 17th June

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 17th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone

I'm sat downstairs having a nice cuppa in the peace and quiet, before the carnage that is DD and DH getting ready begins :rotfl:

Mega busy at work at the moment, finding it quiet stressful, so not getting a lot done at home.

Need to make DD's packed lunch. DH and I are having last night's leftovers (ranchero pie).

Tea tonight will be spaghetti carbonara.

Have a great day everyone (((((hugs)))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Morning.

Sunny day here. I am not feeling too well, having had stomach cramp type thing for almost a week. I guess I might have to see the doc about it. It's not really bad but it's getting rather annoying.
I have a course today, which I asked for, but could do without. It has been getting really busy at work and i need the day to do other things... oh well, Maybe I should just relax and take it easy for a day.

Not much else to report... have a nice day everyone

going for my shower - will be back with my cuppa in a bit!

    Good Morning All

(((hugs))) SOMO1, N9eav and anyone else who needs one - definately get down the doctors N9eav.

Looks like the weather is going to be nice today, have some more washing to do so will be able to get it dry. Still catching up from our busy weekend.

Loads of office work to do, make a good start yesterday and hope to break the back of it today. Its really horrible stuff though and I must avoid doing housework as aversion therapy. OH cleaned yesterday so it doesnt need doing anyway.

Leftover chicken will be for dinner tonight - think will probably make chicken rice.

Lots of depressing news stories about inflation rising and possible more interest rate rises to curb spending - I know everyone is spending more at the moment because they have to not because they want to  oh well least we here on OS get a head start.

    Have a good day.

    Morning all,

Another bright day here :j , dd is off to school and OH to work, and I have the day off, so will have a good tidy through, do a wash, and prepare dinner, I have had a charity bag put through the door, and I will put all of my old t- shirts into it, they have all shrunk a bit and are too tight under the armpits, I hate that

Got a big packet of pork steaks out of the freezer there is 8 in there, so we will have 4 tonight, with new pots and veg I think, and 4 tomorrow, I will have to try and make them taste and look very diferent  .

Stressedomo1, sorry to hear you are stressed, try not to let it bother you, its only work ;)

N9eav, perhaps you should get to the DR x

    Morning poppyoscar x

Hugs to all in need, smoky penpin, candy, jayward, pink xx

    :hello: Morning!

Can't sleep so I am sitting up in bed making lists! If making lists became an olympic sport I truly believe I could represent my country! :D Just need to hang on to them and cross a few things off every once in a while!

De cluttering again today, already have another large bag for the charity shop. I really need to find the floor again in the spare room as we will be having visitors this summer.

    Breakfast - porridge and sultanas
    Lunch - egg salad
Dinner - potato and chickpea curry and rice
snacks - lots of fruit and yogurt

(((hugs))) to PP, jackieO, Hilstep, Candygirl, mrs mix and anyone else who could use one.

    Catz x

Off to catch up on the thread!

    Morning

Cloudy this morning, I blame DH, he put on a short sleeved shirt, so it is bound to rain :D

Slimming World weigh in this morning, and I hope I have lost another pound, it's slow, but I don't stick to it 100%, so any loss is good ;)

Chilli for dinner, so need to nip into Aldi for some mince.

    Catch you all later x

    Morning all :D

I haven't been able to get on for a while ... seems when ever I post that's how I start over the passed few months!!

Hope everyone's doing well ... would love to have some sort of MS OS Newsletter every week to see how everyone's getting on cos really haven't got time (although I'd love to) to read all posts. I try sometimes at lunch time but never get passed the first couple of pages.

I've just had a long weekend away which was fantastic. The weather was good for the most part and we went on the beach - paddling and collecting shells. We're going away again this weekend for both days!!! - Guess I'm really lucky to have a spread out family :D

I therefore need to get my backside in to gear to sort out DD's b'day party as that's the weekend after and I want to be on top of everything. Fingers crossed for sunshine as I've got a bouncy castle booked. Am making cake and rest of food myself (thanks to some help from these forums) and need to get party bags and games sorted.

On the OS front ... I just have some washing up and a load of washing to do - will get that sorted before work. Packed lunch is done for me - however have put DD's on school dinners for £8 each per week and deducted the £16 total from my £40 shopping budget. I thought hard about it and decided for my sanity and there health it was best while I'm working full time. I did weeks shopping from Lidll yesterday and stayed on budget and did meal plan too.

Garden's coming on nicely (was really overgrown when I moved in) Have got a skip out the front at the mo which is nearly full already. Hold on ... just going to get another cup of tea :D ..... I bought a second hand climbing frame so have put the main bit with den and slide up ... just the monkey bars and bridge bit to do now but need to get another 45 mm screw - don't know if you can just buy one but will try :)

I really need to be having a shower and waking DD's up - I feel so guilty waking them up - not only are they in a fowl mood but I feel that they rarely lie in as it is so they must need their sleep.

Hope everyone's well and happy. BIG HUGE HUGS to all who want/need them.

    Luv J xxx

Hi all - N9EAV - get yourself to the doctor!

Sunny here, too; looks like a lovely day, fingers crossed.

(((Hugs))) to SMOKY, PENPIN, JAYWARD, ANNIESTAR, BETH, MRS MIX and CANDYGIRL and her Dad.

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

I'm feeling a lot better this morning; definitely think I have got hayfever but didn't realise it makes you feel so ill! At least now I know! Thanks, Sunnyday!! I still woke up sniffling in the night but only the once and it didn't keep me awake - a few more nights like that and I should be back firing on all cylinders.

Today's plan - apart from cooking chicken pieces to have with salad and new pots for dinner - is to collect my shoes from the menders. £6.20 to have them heeled! They're good shoes and I plan to wear them to DS2's wedding because they match my outfit perfectly so I keep telling myself it's worth the expense!

I think I'll change the sheets today, too, as it looks like a good day for drying.

I have been looking at the Remoska thread and think I'm going to order one to help cut down on cooking costs. They have very good reviews so I need to count out my pennies - the standard one is £79.99 with 4% back via Quidco and a free gift, apparently, from Lakeland. With the rising energy prices, I'm hoping it will be worth having and not something that gathers dust in the back of a cupboard (life my deep fat fryer and my George Forman!).

Anyway, enough from me. Off for a shower.

See you all later - have a great day.

I was just going to start the thread but you beat me to it SOMO.
Off to work soon, very busy at the moment & I get so fed up with 3 of the teachers who never lesson plan & then rush in waving their arms about & wailing because I won't stop what I'm doing to sort out their problems. I shall ask my boss for help today if anyone has any spare time otherwise this particular deadline (1300 booklets printed & bound by next week) will not be met.
    Have a good day
    Hugs Hester

p.s. I have a Remoska Kathy, I'm using it daily at the moment as my oven door is broken.
