    rayday,

I know what you mean...I don't think my eldest (3yrs) has grasped the concept as she keeps telling us she can't wait to go to the seaside...I'm hoping we can go at least for the day.

Here's hoping you get the cash sorted sooner rather than later and can spend some on a few nights at billy butlins or somewhere like that on one of their offers...

re baby...I'll have a word tonight - it's probably the "over-loving" - no that's not a euphemism because it's coming from the siblings - whilst in there that is convincing baby to stop where he/she is; not that it's a problem it's cute really but the other two keep lifting mrs lmw's tops up to kiss the bump and end up punching/kicking/headbutting the poor new one in the process (the latter part is obviously not the cute bit!)

P.S. Rusks...it was daddy doing all the eating in our house...I'm so looking forward to that stage...:D. Why are they so nice; probably some connection with infancy I'd imagine. Although I'm not sure my mom ever gave them to me?

Andy - it could be worse...he could still be trying to share his half sucked, soggy, dribbly rusk with you now at 24...?

I convinced my daughter for 7 years that black fruit pastilles were nasty charcoal flavour and mummy kindly ate them. Also managed 5 years of putting her off going to the "sausage" van that came round the streets with its nasty cheerful music. Those 20p rides never worked with lights on...

I use the "old" - "When it's playing music it means they've run out of ice cream" line...mrs lmw then bats me around the head...

What? With me remembering Kenny Ball? Mid 40's. Still trying to figure out what I want to be when (if) I grow up.

Yes LMW. It did get worse around the time he discovered beer and not control. Couple of instances of having to scoop him off of the strrets when his friends called to say 'we can't make him stand up any more'.

I recorded what he was saying last time and played it back to him when he was sober. He never got that bad again. I don't know whether it was the embarasment or the threat that I would distribute the recording to his friends (and put it on the web).

Yes but I remember Kenny Ball and I am only an ickle early to mid 30's.

On circumstantial evidence I would say you never grew old not sure about up :p

My husband used to ring his Dad when he got worse for wear, he remembers him coming out at 2am in the morning after a reverse charges call. Bit of regret there now though as he lost his Dad (they had children quite late in life).

Hi i just wanted to post because i have been complaining about Halifax reinstating interest charges

I have sent a letter but today i gave them a call and they said because i had already had a certain amount of time already they could no longer freeze interest charges but they could look at reducing the charges to 1% i just need to get CCCS to send the up to date budget

so at least that is something

Everyone thank you so much for your kind words.

kpwll - Thanks for your support. That is why we wanted to get the thread going in the first place. Positivity from others on here! Thanks again, really appreciated

Rayday2 - Sorry about the Sun Holiday but we have to do what we have to do. And that was the sensible option you took so well done. There will always be more deals along soon.

looplylu36 - Thanks for your story, I see what you mean but 30% offer is a good move and you are lucky to have that option. I wish you loads of luck there !

lmw77 - Hey a new baby on the way and entering into the DMP. Well done and Good luck. You can at least sit back now and know that you are making payments of some sort and the letters and calls will stop. And you have a new baby on the way to cheer you up. Let us know when the baby arrives !

Really means a lot having friends like you guys in here. you definitely cheered me up and made me feel loads more positive.

I am not posting this to gloat.
I had a DMP with CCCS of £200 pm and made my final payment in August last year. It was the best feeling being able to telephone them and ask to close my file.

Taking the DMP was the way to go for myself and Mr R as we had gotten into a real mess by our selves and the help of CSA(previous marraige). We would not have gotten to where we are today without the CCCS and their help.

To all that that are just starting one - there is light at the end of the tunnel and dont worry. If any creditors bother you refer them straight to CCCS or chosen help.:j
Those that are about to finish -well done. :T

I would recommended it to anyone who cannot walk straight for running round in circles.

Wow that must be a great feeling to be debt free...!!!

Hows the credit rating looking now then, will you start from scratch to repair your credit rating etc?...

Have you had any trouble remortgaging whilst you were on your DMP???

I am only starting out, the idea is to be debt free in just under 6 years, long way to go but just reading all the posts make me feel so much better, I have been away for the weekend, (Cheap weekend) and couldnt wait to log on this morning and catch up, whenever i feel blue i read all the posts and suddenley i feel better, although i have a few qusetions so if anyone can answer them it would be great...

My OH still doesnt know about my DMP, I have all my calls to my mobile...Will my DMP affect his credit rating??? we have a joint mortgage that we pay on time every month, this is the only thing we have together, but what i really want to know is can my credit rating affect his???...Also we are getting wed soon, will it affect him then???

Also can the creditors ask for any equity etc out of our house???

    Please help???

It will effect him yes as you are financially collected and it will definately effect any future mortgage deals.

They can't ask for equity out the house I believe that is an IVA thing. But if they don't accept your DMP they could go for a CCJ (this is worst case scenario so don't panic!) and then go for a charging order which would mean that if you sold or refinanced your house they would want there bit paying.

You really should think about telling him, I know its easier said that done but he could take it worse the longer he is in the dark.

My sleeping lions are waking up again!

Droyds which was originally Empire Stores have sent a letter demanding a minimum payment of £10 a month or they will withdraw the free banking services. They sent the exact same letter two years ago - so guess what they have got my exact same response about there blackmailing ways! Still nice of them to send a stamped addressed envelope - good times :D
