Hi Bluediamond!
Monday morning feelings this end too!
I need a good slap round the bonce today. Bit fed up we are having to cancel our £9.50 sun holiday which annoys me as its wasted money but it will cost too much to go. We have been let down for a house sitter so no one to pet sit, two birthdays in July and grrrrrrrrrrr endless gripes!
So you deserve a big virtual cheer up thing and "know how it feels" one too!0 -
hi everyone
not posted for ages but need some help and advice
has anyone ever approached Payplan with an offer of a lump sum? I owe about £16000 and have been paying them £100 per month and this will take me about 16 years to finished my plan. However, my nice bloke has suggested he offer them about £8000 fmax for a full and final payment so i could have a fresh start. Would they accept this??0 -
GE Money have finally accepted my DMP after countless court threats. I wonder how long it'll last for though. The left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing at GE.
On the upside though, thats everyone accepted (almost!) I haven't heard a thing from Natwest, E.on or Additions. But so far so good.

Hi Bluediamond,
Sorry you are feeling blue ( ) today. It is miserable weather in my part of the world which certainly doesn't help does it?
But I may be able to make you feel better cos my situation is a whole lot worse! We started our DMP in May and on 21 May I lost my job (well that was my last day). I had been off work with depression so kind of had myself to blame a bit, but anyway, like Sam, my salary £1,497 was our DMP payment. We managed May and June's payments but now the money has well and truly run out and we can't pay anymore. Looks like it will be token payments this month and even when i get another job (I'm looking at childminding at the moment) the salary is likely to be a third less than before, so ulimately our DMP is going to suffer.
There is currently a tiny shaft of light at the end of a VERY dark tunnel, in that my dad has offered us some money to make full and final settlement offers. They would amount to less than 30% tho, so not holding out much hope that anyone would accept but you never know.
Anyway chin up - I know it's really hard but "it's only money":D I've said this before but if you had to choose one problem to live with for life out of health, wealth or happiness, which would you rather it be?0 -

I'm no expert but I don't think it's Payplan you need to approach. I think you would need to approach individual creditors with your offers.

Hi, I'm in a simlar position. I was reading a thread yeterday and Sarah from CCCS had posted saying that there was something called a "Lump Sum IVA". Bit more serious than a DMP but it looks like they can help with this (as I am sure Payplan can). But if you don't want to do an IVA then you probably do just need to negotiate with creditors yourself, which is what I am going to do.0 -
Bluediamond,
There must be something in the air...baby lmw didn't appear this morning as requestedso I had to go to work and leave mrs lmw to it as normal - woe is me...but I felt quite a down even though we had the good news we're well on the way to starting our DMP.
Not sure why, but I had the whole cannot breathe ...we'll never be out of debt so why try..my God...help me...panic episode...
... the good news is I recovered!
And remember what the Monty Python boys said...
.... NOOOOOOOBOOOOOODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!
Worry is different on a DMP - but we're all doing as much as we can - heck if it wasn't for people like you starting up the thread in the first instance where would people like me go for advice and support now?
rayday2: it's annoying when you have to cancel stuff - but I'm sure you'll have said this yourself to other folks at least your not falling further into the debt abyss! I can totally empathise with this though, we assumed we wouldn't be able to afford to pay the £38 or so to go so we didn't even book a sun holiday this year - since then we have come onto the DMP so we may have been able to swing it but I'm glad that we didn't take our usual decision of have now, worry later.
So, virtual (non-dodgy) hugs all around!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 201
DMP with Payplan DFD sometime in 2017:eek: !
BUT...I'm Proud to be dealing with my debt.0 -
Hmm Getting into more debt would be better than telling the girls we can't go!
Its not our fault either really, we are owed £500 back pay in child support and a 3/4 year pay restructure which was due January and is apparently still with personnel - so incredibly annoying!
You need to convince that baby that life is better outside - tell them there are wonderful things like rusks - not that mine ever got any mummy ate them all0 -

Oh the agony of baby 'sharing' his half sucked, soggy, dribbly rusk with me. he was so generous, I couldn't refuse. YUCK!
He's 24 now and no longer shares his rusks with me.0 -
I convinced my daughter for 7 years that black fruit pastilles were nasty charcoal flavour and mummy kindly ate them. Also managed 5 years of putting her off going to the "sausage" van that came round the streets with its nasty cheerful music. Those 20p rides never worked with lights on...
Now she is 12 in a matter of days and not so easily pleased but incredibly generous when someone else is paying.
I thought you were a baby Andytwonames - you must have been a child father0
