  • Can anyone help me in writing a letter to MBNA, as they have phoned loads over the months and it has calmed down now. I have hardly had any phone calls of late. They have sent me a letter saying that they have been unable to contact me (:rotfl::rotfl: )
The letter that I am trying to write is so that they will accept my offer and stop or reduce interest on my credit card.

Has anyone got any ideas that I can put in it.

    Thanks

  • Good Morning All,
Is there anyone else who is due to start their DMP with CCCS on 1st Dec who is also still waiting for a welcome pack?
I am getting a little nervous now and one cc company is calling chasing for a £150 payment, or they will start adding charges to our balance. I have sent them the standard letter telling them that we are going into a DMP but they dont appear to have acknowledged it.
Plus its my payday today, and I want to withdraw my money to put into separate envelopes to help me stick to my budget, but until I get my welcome pack I cant to that.

  • Hi Lozza - I'm waiting for my Welcome Pack too - DMP starts 1 Dec. They told me to phone them back at the end of the week if I still have not received it. I asked them how much a couple of my creditors were being offered to I know it's set up but frustrating not have the pack yet - I presume they are inundated. Like you, I have put labels on various jars so I can budget - wish I wasn't starting the DMP till 1 Jan as I could do with making tokwn payments this month - Christmas is going to be a struggle and we've just been hit with a car repair bill for £500_pale_ Mother-in-law is going to help with the bill but I feel we are already starting off on the wrong foot.

Ianmak - pleased to hear NR have accepted your plan, they are my largest debt with £19,500 and like you, I am a homeowner and my mortgage is with them too.

Hi to everyone else - hope you're all doing okay.
No more credit for me - I will no longer live beyond my means :A

Don't feel daft at all, that's what we are here for. We only (although it is a huge amount to us) owe £7000 is and we both work but we are struggling and were no longer willing to rob peter to pay paul anymore.
The most important thing is that you are doing this because you know it needs to be sorted once and for all.

i would call cccs straight away and explain about the unexpected repair bill etc and ask for the start date to be put back to Jan 1st, im sure they will be fine with that - then send token payments again givign your cccs number and explain your first payment will be 1st jan - its difficult enough as it is without starting on the wrong foot

If you're honest with CCCS and tell them what's going on, they are really understanding. They don't want you to struggle - they want to help you. The only thing I would say is that if your first payment is going by direct debit, it may already be too late for it to be stopped.

and for those who haven't had their welcome packs yet, CCCS are absolutely inundated, and besides that, the royal mail are rubbish!! Can you not log onto your plan on the CCCS website? that way you will know where your payments are being allocated.....
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

    Hey Ruthie,

I had to do the same with CCCS as I had a high car repair bill. I called and they agreed that it would be January start. It means I have to send another load of token payments this month also. Not looking forward to all that posting etc again and messing about but there is nothing else I can do.

On a seperate matter which may be of help to others I had a call from Barclaycard tonight (they have been calling me now for 2 weeks around 8 times a day!! ) I spoke to someone the other night who said the calls would stop now but hey hum they contiue- anyways I really let this call guy have it tonight! He said that I needed to make a payment now and I said are you stupid?! I'm with the cccs (as had already quoted my reference) and it's quite clear that if I'm with them I don't have a pot to (you can guess the rest) he said fine ok well I'll put another note on your account and that should be ok. He did say that as yet there is no record of receiving any correspondance from cccs so am going to email the advisor again tonight. Oh he also said they never accept any plans that are offering less than £5 per month- I think my offer to them is around £6.50 per month from what I can make out on my cccs pack (by the way I only received this very recently for all those who are worried and I contacted them in october). This may have just been a scare tactic from the man but thought I would share with you all!

Anyways i hope everyone is doing ok- I try to assist where I can but this is still all new to me too :o

  • Hi guys new and not so new! :D

We had our review on Monday night (don't you hate waiting for that call?) luckily the guy from CCCS called after GoldenBalls :rotfl: but it wasn't as bad as I'd expected. We managed to lower our DMP payment to £300 until our next review in March so at least for now the payments are manageable.

Murray Mint with reference to your query re: Halifax, we have not heard a peep from that debt company or the bank reagrding the loan apart from the usual 'please call to discuss your account' type letter. In fact it has been quiet so far on the creditor front, hope I don't jinx myself now by saying that when we will be lowering our payments to them.

Majority of creditors have stopped interest and charges but in the mean time since we started the DMP our debt has increased by at least £3000  so now they have stopped the charges (thank god) we owe more than what we did when we started so really in no better position at the moment for it. It's not like they have done us any great favours by doing it now

Monument which I believe is part of Barclaycard is still charging interest and charges every month despite paying a small amount to them yet Barclaycard were really good and stopped both almost straight away.

DMP = rollercoaster of emotions :D Good luck to each and every one of you and to all the newbies; welcome to the gang! :p

Keep smiling if you can, it's the only thing at the minute that doesn't cost anything! :rotfl:
