My bank is lloyds, and my CC's are with virgin, halifax n barclaycard so God knows:confused::confused: I haven't got the money to pay at the moment so .......:o

Lloyds and Halifax are soon to be linked so I'd advise a change of banks. Have you got an overdraft with Lloyds to be included in the DMP?

A word of warning for those with NR loans, they seem to request an update of your financial situation after 3 months....
I just asked CCCS and they re-sent the budget info and hey presto, NR say "ok then, you're clearly in the same situation"

I cancelled my PP insurance with Barclaycard last night (Didnt even know i had it!!) and the guy said "are you on some sort of repayment plan?" and I said yes - to which he replied "I'm supposed to try and get you to not cancel the insurance, but if you're on a payment plan, you just want to reduce your outstanding balance anyway you can, don't you...?"
and then he cancelled it with immediate effect.....
so they're not all bad at Barclaycard...he actually made my night for being so understanding..!!
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

If you never knew you had it, then you mustn't have agreed to it when you took out the card, therefore it must have been mis-sold. Check out the PPI reclaiming threads and start a reclaim!

He was probably that nice because he knew that you have good grounds for a complete refund of all ppi payments plus interest. A susessful reclaim will clear a big chunk of your balance!

    Good luck,

    Cocker :)

    Thanks Cocker....
I'm looking at reclaiming my CC charges too - It's taking me a while to get through everything on this site - but it's great when I see something and think "wow - I can claim that back".
At the moment though, I can't afford to spend the £10 to get my DPA requests fulfilled, so it will have to wait until next year now....but it's something to look forward to!!!

Some days I wonder how I have got myself into such a mess - I'm a relatively intelligent lady with a very responsible job. How have I got into so much debt??
But....the good news is that from Monday (when the CCCS payment goes out) I will be less than 3 years away from being debt free...!!! yey!!!

after 10 years, I find myself still above water but fearign the day will quickly come when minimum paymenst cannot be met.

Jan is my start date for my DMP ... then, 3 - 4 years should see me completely debt free and then I can throw an extra £1000 a month at my mortgage

I'm not overdrawn but do have an overdraft.Do you think Halifax CC will take more money out than I agree to?Otherwise I don't wanna change my account as Lloyds have been fine for me :o

Thanks 2spicy - it's nice to know i'm not alone...
My life has transformed since July when I started my DMP....I now don't have to worry about not having any money left at the end of the month...I don't have to worry about going over my overdraft - which I always did!
I don't have an overdraft now....
The biggest thing that I miss is my debit card....no more paying for petrol with my card...instead I have to go to the cashpoint and get cash before going to the petrol station....but the bank have said that I can apply for a debit card next month (I'm leaving it until January to have a better chance of getting it).

I'm so pleased that I have actually done something about my situation instead of just ignoring it....and I am getting sorted.
Things get me down sometimes, like everyone else.....but I'm in a much better position than I was 6 months ago!!

Well done everyone who has taken charge of their own life!! :T :T :T

What card to you have? I have an electron card with the Co-Op cashminder account. I can pay for petrol with my card, I just can't pay at the pumps. In fact I very rarely have trouble paying with my card anywhere.

Jvic, I only have a cash card at the moment - it has no debit facility at all....
but I've been with the new bank for almost 6 months now, and they've said I can apply to upgrade then - when i've proven that i can manage my account properly...!!

Cool. Didn't realise you only had a cashcard. Even though I have no troubles with my card really it would be nice to have a 'grown up' account again one day.
