Thanks again, statement is well overdue so looks like we'll have to bite the bullet and phone them.

Yes, I meant so we could see what OH owes and interest etc. We have a rubbish postie who's always delivering everybodys post on our street to wrong house so it's probably sitting on someone else doormat.
Think they'll pay it for us too Ha HA!

Right, ok then you could phone up and listen to the automated person to get the balance. Sorry I thought that you wanted to try and set up a standing order or to pay them over the internet.

That will not give you what charges you have paid though

  • Hi, I started my DMP in October, including a credit card with BoS (AA branded). My September statement showed zero interest, so I thought they must have agreed to freeze interest and charges. Then, the October statement showed "interest at a reduced rate", which was about 2/3 of my DMP payment. I got the November statement today, together with a letter stating I had missed a payment (the amount was my DMP payment amount) and the interest was back to full wack - totalling about 125% of my DMP payment!!!:confused: And a nice fat £12 late payment charge to boot!

Surely they know cccs pay on 25th of the month, so why the threatening letter and the charge? My balance is now going up

I've emailed cccs to ask for help, but if anyone else has had dealings with BoS/AA, would be grateful for any advice!

LBM July 2008 53k:eek: DMP with CCCS - start Oct08 DFD Sep 2014 - or sooner!!;)
  • DMP starts 1 December, don't think creditors have heard from CCCS yet and are phoning and phoning, most have said they will place the account on hold, once I gave them CCCS reference. They were then happy to wait to be contacted with the offer. The exception to this is Barclays Motor Finance, used to be Clydesdale Financial Services. They constantly phone and OH tells them about CCCS etc. The latest phone call came yesterday and OH repeated his usual story, the woman said that there was no note on the account about CCCS  so I don't know what all the other callers have been doing with the info OH gave them!! She then said they would not deal with the CCCS, only us and the minimum they will accept is £12.50 - which I think is roughly what they might get, but don't want to get into any negotiations with them, want to leave it to the CCCS. I think they are trying to bully us, should I sit tight and wait till CCCS have written to them - are they bluffing? Or should I tell the CCCS about them?

Getting really impatient now, just want my DMP up and running and the phone calls to stop :(

I have to pay £427 to CCCS on 1 December, I paid token payments for November, do I make any for December too or once I pay my monthly £427 is that it, how long will it be before CCCS pay it out?

How frustrating RIH, hope things get sorted - must be infuriating to see balance going up instead of down.

  • Bit of a low day today. I had an arrangment with one of my creditors and had this in writing. They have just phoned me up today to say that I am behind in the payments and can I pay some today. I explianed that I had a letter and that I was on an arraangment with them. Then I was told that the offer had been rejected and I should of got a letter, they told me why it had been rejected and I said when I could pay next and how much. I asked if I could be sent the rejection letter, but of course they could not seen the letter on their system.
I just feel that I am taking steps forward in try to deal with the debt and then I am going knocked down at every hurdle.

  • Hi guys ;)

OH received a letter today from Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd (pre court division in bright red letters!)

    It reads -

    Dear OH

We have been instructed by Halifax to collect your overdue debt of £xxx

It is a legal requirement to send a notice of intended litigation before legal proceedings in the County Court are issued. This letter fulfils the requirements even it is not read by you.

To preven legal action from being taken it is essential that you settle this debt without delay. Payment should be submitted in full within 7 days or contact made to this office immediately by telephone on xxxxx or by letter within with your payment offer. Failure to contact us by 10.00am on 28/10/2008 may result in legal proceedings being issued against you without further notice.

We would draw to your attention that if Judgement and an order for repayment in full is obtained and remains unpaid enforcement of debt may be sought by one or more of the following

1 Warrant of execution of baliffs against goods owned

2 Application of attachment of earnings order with your present or future employer

3 Application for a charging order on any property you may own or purchasin under a mortgage

We would emphasise that should judgement be enetered against you this may affect any future credit application you may make elsewhere. We would also draw to your attention that all legal costs are usually payable by the debtor.

All payments must be made payable to Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd and forwarded with this letter to the above address.

    Yours sincerely

    A Martin

So what is our next step? This is for OH loan from Halifax, we are now on a joint DMP with CCCS. Shall I write for a CCA from Moorcroft? Shall I instruct CCCS to pay this company instead of Halifax?

I know the letter contains alot of 'may' and 'if's' but I have checked out Moorcroft and they don't appear to be one of the easiest of DCA's to deal with.

Any advice on what our next step should be please?

    many thanks

    Hi Toffee Penny

I'm just looking at all DMP / Halifax posts as I went through all our creditors yesterday and they are the worst for charging interest + fee every month (we owe them £1,200 on a Halifax CC, which is about 3% of our DMP debt, we pay them £5 per month and each month they're adding £50 to the debt ).

I would be really interested to know what has happened since your post above? A month has passed and what is the current situation with the Halifax?

Or if anyone else has experience of Halifax CC and a DMP please let me know????

My other worst debtor is Tesco/ RBOS CC... so I'm off to seek out other posts about them

    Many Thanks,
    MM
