    Hi,

MBNA wouldn't accept my DMP or the repayment offered. They kept adding charges and interest for a couple of months before defaulting the account and selling it on to a debt collection agency called Equidebt. I've had no problems with these and they accepted the DMP straight away. Payplan is free. Google them for their website.

    Cocker:)

Thanks for that I have being on my dmp since oct. I think that they are trying to get more out of me than I can offer.

Thet tried that with me. They suggested a monthly repayment that was more than double what was being offered through the DMP. I told them that they had to go into the DMP with all my other creditors and couldn't be treated any different. I think they thought that my financial situation would improve within a few months!:rotfl:

They warned me about the impact on my credit score if I never accepted their offer, but i explained that it was already shot to pieces and wasn't bothered. They pestered for a few months, but eventually gave up and wrote the debt off and sold it to Equidebt.

    Thanks for that

So they is light at the end of the tunnel then

I also think that they are trying it on with me as I am doing a dmp on my own and not with a company.

    Hi Honky Tonk
I cant remember the name of the person who gives out the numbers but maybe they have'nt been around for a while so thats why you have'nt got one. Theres loads of different names on here from when I first found the thread back in August so maybe one of the original posters will know.

Hi Kudox, thanks, if I find any offers going, I'll be the first to let you know!

Honky Tonk, Rayday usually sorts the numbers out but I havent seen her about lately on the thread - I hope everything is going okay with her (how are you Rayday?!)

I've noticed a few mentions of the worry of Christmas approaching ... I was wondering myself as to how everyone else was feeling. I cant help but fret about it too. I never realised just HOW MUCH we used to rely on credit to get us through.

At this rate we'll be lucky just to have food in the cupboards, some heating on and some electricity to keep the lights twinkling on the tree (do you think the kids would accept that as a gift  :rotfl: ).

I suppose the best Christmas present we can give ourselves (yes, we are entitled to something!) is the knowledge that we wont have £££££s worth of more worry next year added to the worries we've already got :D

I cant type for long ... my fingers are frozzed (trying to keep the heating bill down!) ... best invest in some fingerless gloves before the real winter sets in or I I'll have to go into DMP hibernation :rotfl:

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

Thanks for all your support guys and gals, much appreciated.

They'll huff and puff but they'll eventually run out of steam! When they realise they aren't going to get their money they'll give up. They cant have what you haven't got!

To be honest, my MBNA debt has been one of the easier to manage. From when they defaulted the account, things have been really quiet. It really all depends on who they sell the debt on to.

My OH is just stating to do his own DMP, separate from mine with the cccs, and MBNA are one of his creditors.
We sent the pro rata payment last month which they cashed, but since then they've not sent a new statement, so how are we meant to pay them the next one. Sorry if thats a stupid question!
We are trying to avoid phoning them for obvious reasons, so hope someone can shed light on this.
    Thanks guys.

I got the info from the back of a statement and pay by internet banking. Or if you are registered for online banking with mbna then log in and have a look their to see if you can see the payment info on there.

Yes at the moment I still get statements from them and they have not stopped interest or charges on my account. So I can clearly see what they are charging me for.

Thanks again, statement is well overdue so looks like we'll have to bite the bullet and phone them.
