hi i am arranging a DMP with payplan and am waiting for my pack to arrive. on friday i opened a Lloyds tsb account and transferred all my DDs and wages etc over to it. One of my creditors is Halifax and I am worried as I am reading that they are linked to lloyds tsb. Have i done the wrong thing opening an account with Lloyds ?0

Many creditors have been a bit relaxed in keeping signed CCA's (Credit Agreements) and if a debt is pre 2007 you can challenge them and ask them to supply it. Some unscrupulous creditors have been known to doctor documents with signatures you have supplied. It is sometimes handy to challenge a Creditor if they are unwilling to freeze interest etc. If they can't supply a CCA they are sometimes more willing to comply.
p.s you're not daft. Few of us knew all of this before this website.
hiya jvic28
i thanked you earlier on a previous post reply and i agree with this post too
im in the process of asking for all my cca's and boy has it been a roller coaster of emotion, hard work and only 1 so far that is correct, also a nice visit to my trading standards office who totally agree that some companies are just not holding or providing us consumers with the right information as we are legally entitled to,,,,so some interesting past few months
now off to the fos to claim against 3 of the same company so see what happens there,
anyway, hope everyone is doing okay, its just that as you learn more stuff you realise you do have more rights than you think you do, and at the start of everything you are scared about stuff but believe me you also gain lots of knowledge
you just have to do what you have to do, but what im saying is just get the information along your journey and then you can take even better steps and options in the future thats all,
take care and will update you asap
take care all and hello to newbies and the usual crowd ciao for now MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Morning. Was just wondering do you have to ring CCCS to get a password to beable to check your DMP online? Not rec'd one yet and just wanted to check that they receive my payment this week.
Also, oh minds gone blank what was I going to ask..... oh yes, will creditors write to me direct to let me know whether they accept the DMP or to CCCS? Im not sure whether I should keep ringing for an update to CCCS or whether the creditors still contact me.
Sorry to ask, just little things that i think about on this all new road of debt free life. I just want to make sure i always know whats going on.

MoaM ... just to let you know I received my password from CCCS just last week, which is quite a bit after I sent all my paperwork back to CCCS. I would assume yours will be with you shortly!
Also, and this might answer your second question, a quick update of my own (my first!
) and a complete surprise to me, given their renowned reputation for being complete pains in the derriere over DMPs ... I got a letter from Lloyds Credit Card Services accepting my payment plan for 6 months (I assume this is standard) and reducing my monthly interest to 0.482%. Ok, so they didn't completely freeze interest, but I'll settle for a reduction for the moment (think it works out at 5.94% APR).
One down, seven to go (two of them other Lloyds depts .. *gulp*) ...

That worked for me, in fact I still haven't received a password from cccs!

Im not sure whether I should keep ringing for an update to CCCS or whether the creditors still contact me. My creditors seem to be writing directly to me, so I am informing CCCS via the DMP message service on their website. Some haven't even acknowledged at all yet (first payment went in October).

Ask away, we're all learning from each other here so the more questions, the more we learn and the more we feel we're not on our own in all this.

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question- after the stress of opening a Barclays current account last week as my new account, (and then realising I shouldn't have becuase of my debt with barclaycard-doh) I went this evening and just made it to the local Lloyds tsb branch. I have opened an account with them a basic one- this was so stressful though because they kept trying to offer me an overdraft-aggrrhh, if that's not irresponsible lending I don't know what is?!! Why do they do this to us?!!
But anyways I felt happy that I managed to just get out of there after arguing for just my basic account- anyways I came home and had a convo with my Mum and said the hassle of opening a new account etc that was seperate from debts but she said that Lloyds tsb are now amalgamating with other banks like RBS to form some sort of super bank- so now my question is this- Will Natwest one of my creditiors still be able to touch my money with Lloyds if they become linked?! If I have to open another account I think I'm going to go crazy!!!
My other debts are with Mint, Egg, Sainsburys, Abbey (bank and CC), GE Money (evans card), Barclaycard and as mentioned Natwest (bank and CC). Are any of these associated with Lloyds too?
Sorry for all the questions- Thanks so much guys, really apreciated!
Also can I have a number please to go with my signature??xx DD

Hello everyone! Been trying to read the whole of this thread, but after reading the first 15 or so pages, thought I'd better skip to the last 15 or I really will be here for days! Just fascinated to read all of your stories!
Well, I was hoping I could join in and have a number and everything as I think I may be here for a while!!
My husband and I have set up a DMP with CCCS. We sent off the agreement to them on Saturday and have sent off the letters to our creditors by Recorded Delivery, so they should all receive them tomorrow (am now scared about the next week or so!!). Our first payment to CCCS is on 1st December.
So, we have a total of £45,000 and we should clear this in roughly 8 years (dependant on the creditors obviously!)
Northern Rock are our biggest at £25k - and they are the ones we are most scared about! The person at CCCS said that they may try and get our loan to be secured, but with our mortgage and a separate secured loan that takes us to the value of the house, I can't see how they can make it secured and now really worried about what they will do! I phoned today to ask them to make the direct debit for the mortgage and unsecured loan separate as they are currently joint - but they won't do anything until they have received the paperwork from us and made a decision as to whether they accept the DMP! I am worried about this so much as obviously I want to and have to pay our mortgage, but don't want to pay the extra £175 towards the unsecured loan when we are paying CCCS. Not quite sure what to do, but NR said to phone them next week when the paperwork is received. Any ideas and experiences with NR gratefully received!!!
So, the other creditors are HSBC Mastercard, HSBC overdraft, Alliance & Leicester Overdraft, Mint, Naturally Close (aka Fashion World), Barclaycard, Barclaycard Travel (formerly Morgan Stanley), HFC.
I guess now we play the waiting game to see who accepts the agreement!
We have applied for a Halifax basic account and are just waiting to hear back from them, have cancelled the Direct Debits that are on the DMP (apart from Northern Rock at the mo as not sure what to do there!).
Feel relieved that we are finally sorting things but also scared as I am not sure what to expect! I have read about the phone calls, but we have cancelled our phone line so the creditors don't have a phone number to call us on, so I guess we'll just get letters!
Anyway, sorry for the ramble! Look forward to getting to know you all over the next 8 years!! x0 -

Hi,
Lloyds Tsb are merging with HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland). As your debts are with The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) you will be fine because this is a totally separate company and is not linked inany way with Lloyds TSB.
