Just a quick question how did you pay for your token payments? I have just opened a new account and i was told it will come with a cheque book but I won't receive this for 3-5 working days so the beginning of next week sometime it should be. I am putting together my letters now though so is there another way I can make the token payments? I have cheque books for my other accounts but they are included in my DMP and I will then be sending them a cheque from their account so to speak? Is that ok?

Hi,
I think most people have used postal orders to pay their token payments. They do cost more than their face value though, so maybe you are better off just waiting for your cheque book to arrive.

Dont do this because you are in effect adding to the amount you owe them, so really you are not making a payment at all. I'm sure this isn't allowed in a DMP.

Totally agree with Cockers advice on that one, Use a postal order... You may have to pay for them, but you won't be adding to you debt

Hi DMPers,
Little update from us, we've increased the payments slightly. Haven't heard anything back from most of them, but I'm sure they'll accept it.
Minor problem with Carp-ital One, they keep demanding a signature, not happening! But I'm sure they'll settle soon.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
it could be who you think they are - i dont know who they represent or if they have had the debt sold to them
Well as it turns out they are chasing the arrears I built up with E.on. I have checked with E.on who have said they are collecting on their behalf but the debt is still E.ons.
i dont have any debts with natwest so no knowledge of robinson way neither. However, if you wish to have a good letter to send to them one of my usual ones i use for not calling all in writing and do not have any ideas on sending someone to my home neither type of reply, am happy to send to you -
Thanks for your help guys, all that worry was for nothing really (for the time being) For once, all is going well.
Sainsbury's Bank still charge me interest of approx £1 a month but I can cope with that for the time being.
And for a little inspiration for everyone, thats all of my creditors accepted that they're on my DMP. That 13 different account!! Yey me!

Hi DL,
I opened a basic account with Barclays but I do have a barclaycard which now I'm starting to think may not have been a good idea but apprantly these companies are seperate like Natwest and Natwest credit card- what do you think? After researching companies for a basic bank account I just thought Barclays sounded the best and also we have one of those near to where we live too- any ideas?Total debt at start of DMP: £20972.00First Payment: January 2009

I'm not really hot on these sorts of things but I don't think it's a good idea. As they are all Natwest or Barclays etc they may well dip into your account to take payments for their credit cards. I don't think it's worth the risk.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -
Hello everyone :hello:
It's been a little while since I popped in here.
As the weather's rubbish today, I thought it was a perfect time to read through recent posts.
My CCCS DMP is going OK - all rather quiet (which is good!).
Nationwide were being a bit of a pain. They'd initially accepted the DMP for three months, then rejected it, then defaulted the account (with three default notices issued over three days), but have recently written to accept the reduced payments again (for six months). It's been one of the situations where I can't decide to be angry or relieved, upset or indifferent - and have felt all at the same time!Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.
Dealt with my debt through a Step Change (CCCS) DMP.
