Bad day now. Just as I was filling in the self admin cccs forms, I opened the post and there's one from newman and co, dca for Amex, saying "we are disappointed that all our effforts to rsolve this matter in a mutually acceptable manner have been unsuccessful". They are saying Bankruptcy proceedings will follow...
I did offer to make monthly payments so I'm livid. I have sent them an email outlining this. It will get there before my dmp... Actually, I'm not livid, I'm crushed. One step forward and twenty back.
No no, not crushed, just a mere setback! Do they say bankruptcy proceedings WILL follow ... or MAY ... ? I understand from reading around (here and the CAG forums, another most excellent place for advice and resources) that Amex aren't the most understanding of people to deal with. Do a search here ==> http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/#black-consumer-forums-center for Newman (you may have to register for the site, but it's free and very worthwhile, LOTS of useful stuff on there). I did a quick search on there, and came back with loads of hits (and info!).

Just with an online payment from my bank account to CCCS, I emailed CCCS to ask if that's ok and they said yes, and gave me their account details.

Thank you so much for this. Will visit CAG now.
Amex/Newman & Co are saying "we have been instructed to pass this matter to our solicitors, messrs.... for a Statutory Bankruptcy Demand to be issued"
Within my portfolio of debt chasers, these are by far the most aggressive, intimidating people to deal with. I was even in tears as I read out the OFT guidelines on harrassment, but I did get the words out and the guy hung up. Then rang back, when my husband answered there was a 'tut' and then he hung up...Lou0 -

Have PMd it to you.
No, I haven't set up a monthly payment as we have to pay by Direct Debit, right? It's just for the first payment that I'm doing the online banking transfer.
