I'm gutted!! On the 2nd September I called Student Loan people who told me they were going to refund me £80. I gave them my new account details (as my original account is in the DMP) and I also sent them the new account details in the form they provided on that day. I've called them today as the refund hasn't gone in and he says they have refunded it to the old account. I'm never going to see that again am i? I was too embarrassed to say that I was in a DMP and needed that money in the new account. Instead it will just be swallowed up by Natwest. I am in the middle of setting up a DMP with CCCS. All my creditors seem to have completely ignored the notification of a DMP form I sent to them and are still sending me snotty threatening letters. If I am to believe them all then the contents of my house are going to be repossessed by bailiffs in the next few weeks. Do the companies ignore you until they receive something from CCCS:beer:Proudly paying as little as possible for stuff since birth:beer:0

Hi, looking for some advice.
Got my statement through for my Preference account with BOS and they've taken off an unauthorised overdraft fee and a late payment fee. They should have the details of the DMP by now but I haven't heard anything.
Should I send them a letter with a copy of the creditor summary and budget or should I wait and see what happens after the first payment is actually received?
TSB have agreed the smallest credit card payment for 6 months but nothing for the biggest 2 yet and I am sending the summary & budget info to their solicitors department tomorrow as grey letters have been received for both and I don't think they've got around to looking at the DMP yet.
Can I have a number please as it looks like I'm going to be here for some time.

Hi guys!
Wow the member list is growing in numbers everyday! erm I'm not sure if that is quite a good thing but hey you all know what I meant! A big warm welcome to everyone new!
Just wanted to give an update on my situation, had a letter from Capital One saying that I needed to SIGN my letter (you may remember I have already asked them twice to stop ppi payments) I have read on here that you shouldn't have to sign anything especially letters (I printed my name) because some devious people may use it to insert on CCA's you request. Are they just being difficult or am I reading too much into this?
Lloyds have sent me another letter asking me to call them urgently to have a little chat about my loan account, WHY? I ain't got no more money I is skint!!
Anyway other half is here, we are back as a family and ready to face whatever comes our way (god I sound so brave! ) We already have a set of oars each but we desperately need some arm bands because we will be swimming in the brown stuff real soon, debts figures between us....well too ashamed to admit to be honest but let's just say I'll be on here for alot longer than my original 5 years!
Best wishes to all of you and keep smiling, it doesn't cost nowt and at least the smileys are working!

I think I'm having a similar problem to you. Have heard from one creditor but the other 8 are either ignoring the DMP offer or haven't got it yet. I was told that TSB were 4-6 weeks behind with their mail but it's been over 4 weeks now so they should surely be doing something.
Sorry can't answer your query but thought you'd like to know you're not the only one. My first payments should be sent next week so I'll see what happens after then.August 08 debt £58544.84, Paid £1668, Dec 08 Total £58236.48

If they keep charging us interest we will be here longer too. DH is very up and down with his moods and I am really struggling to keep his mood up. He seems to think we are the only family that sit in every night watching TV and not enjoying takeaways or meals out. I told him even if we weren't in this mess we wouldn't be going out because we have kids and dogs to look after.:rolleyes:Lightbulb moment: 14 May 2008Debt free date: April 2014DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 188Nightowl Member No 160 -

Hi Pottsy,
yes some creditors have a knack of ignoring everything and anything you write to them.
Baliffs are into the big heavy stuff like council tax and they mean business for this, that is why CCCS can't stress enough that priority debts are, well a priority. Baliffs aren't interested or there to fuss over catalogue debts, credit cards etc and the creditors know this, that is why they usually have to resort into scare tactics so you'll pay more.
Most debts eventually will go to court and will result in a ccj, I think this is the only way you can successfully get all interest and charges stopped as the debt at time of going to court is final and that is what you have to pay, no more no less.
DMP's are fine for a short time and creditors reserve their right to continue with extra charges that is why it is better for it to be defaulted and passed to a DCA as they are the ones to deal with (more negotiable) if not they will pass it to the courts for a ccj. Unless of course you have the finances to offer full and final settlements it is just one of those things.
I'm sure National Debtline and CCCS have more information on their websites about what will and won't happen.
Hope this helpsDMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
I've kept all the correspondence that I've received from creditors. I've got a big file that I started at the beginning of my DMP, separated into a section for each creditor plus another section for CCCS stuff. I keep all the statements (starting with the ones I sent to the CCCS) on here too.
While most of the letters contain complete tosh, it's been very handy to see how the dates of their letters tie in with ones from me and the CCCS. And though everything is going fine at the mo, it might all come in very handy if things go pearshaped at any point!
I have mine all filed - I can't cope with not opening them - I just seem to accrue an amazing amount of return envelopes lol!MSE-ing since 20070
