My dishwasher died, I am waiting for back pay from a 3 year pay review so was hoping it would last till then. I got one off ebay to tide me over a green one for 99p rofl

I kill appliances so as I buy them now I take extended warranty out and I have my £20 a month ISA that should pay for things like that and it did a new bathroom so at the moment its empty.

You deserve the biggest bar of cadburys going!

Potty training toddler determined not to poo on potty or toilet, and insists on playing in DD bedroom.
Child Benefit paying till 1st September then DS No1 amount being taken off. Some breathing space. PHEW!
Waiting to hear from Tax Credits about new award so I can contact CCCS to rejig DMP.
I'm getting impatient now. I want to get it sorted asap, but until I know what my income is going to be I can't do a blessed thing.
Should I break Money jar and buy new dishwasher?

  • Morning all.

Hi VS&S I dont think you have to worry about opening more than 1 account, I have just done a similar thing. Still waiting for my account number as well which is very frustrating when all I want to do is get DD and such transferred from old to new bank!

Try poping into your local branch and explain your still waiting and wondered if they could chase it for you. If you cant get to the branch maybe just give them a call or the bank 'call centre' a call.

I have one bank I went into last week where the assistant flatly refused to open me an account on the basis I used to have an account there but that got closed down by the bank for being dormant! I knew I had an account there I hadnt used for a while but it was nice of somebody to write and tell me that!

Anyway I then applied to the same bank online account and hey presto I had my aceptance letter yesterday, complete with account number, no ID required all I need to do is sign it for signature reference and either post it back or take it to local branch!

I am trying to hold back my desire to take it to local branch and wave it under the nose of the  lady who was so helpful! ;)

Jvic - No I didnt keep the statements once the bill has been cleared and I have checked the items are not fraudulent.

    Thanks

    :)

Good news..... I have finished paying off utility debt!!!!:j I now have to decide if I should stick with prepayment meter. Had a good look around, other companies are offering better deals with a PP meter. No big surprised with bill I guess.

  • I have a very enviromentally dishwasher that seldom breaks down, it's my husband! ;)

Galaxy chocolate is my fav, and Lindt. I quite like cadbury's caramel too. I only eat choccy on a Saturday but now craving it. Will take the dog for a jog to take my mind off it.

Did my tax return, phew. Mind you, got to pay a fair bit of tax.

Lloyds are toads, I agree. We have a battle of letters back and forth at the moment but I will NOT GIVE IN!

    :)

GHOST - You had a question a while back about 3rd Party payments from your benefits. I can't find the post (sorry, coffee hasn't kicked in yet), what did you need to know?
I vaguely remember doing something similar years ago for a debt. Income Support arranged to pay the debt directly from my benefit. (Utility I think). They won't do it for most things I think but gas & leccy are essentials so I think they would do it for that.
You can PM if you need to.

    aww thanks for asking.

But pretty pants actually (let me whine for 5 mins!) its day 5 of the antiobioitics the itching has gone a little well to the point that will power works. But it is so sore, swollen and red. The only pair of shoes I can wear are a pair of reef flip flops which are normally like slippers. But they hurt I have had to put talcum on my foot to stop it rubbing on the strap so much.

If this doesn't work apparently they will admit me and inject the veins directly or something. At that point in my head I was going la la ala la la and ignoring them lol

Whine over - sorry! Everyone in the house is sick of hearing me moan, I can't walk my puppy so I am still a tub of lard when I supposed to be working on being the next Kate Moss rofl!

Thanks for your advice on the Bank Account rayday. I am sorry to seem insensitive, your post about your foot must have posted as I was writing mine! I hope you're not feeling too horrendous...

And I saw Kate Moss in person not too long ago. While she is beautiful in magazines etc she looked what my two male mates described as 'haggard'. Tell you what, if your foot doesn't get better I will make every effort to find the magic airbrush they use on her pictures and send it to you. How is that?

I have just trained (touch wood) my third daughter and she was a nightmare the other two in a day were sorted. I studied her behaviour and came up with a military campaign and we are nearly there I think. She was dry at night before day time how annoying was that!

Well done on paying things off.

As for the jar only you can answer that one, its annoying me at the moment if people paid me what I was owed I could get some fab deals on a dishwasher. I saw a bosch posh one even told you want time your pots would land for less than £300 and everyone I speak to recommend bosch. The first one that died was a Beko only lasted 4 years, the one I have for 99p was a servis and is apparently 7 year old - and very green!
  • also, have looked back in the post and can't find that link which tells you which banks etc are linked together...could someone post it again?

    Thanks xxx

PS I DREAM of a dishwasher! My mother and grandmothers would be horrified if they know how often I wash the dishes! (or don't, more accurately...)
