I'm not too bad thanks teecee, having to cut our DMP payments down though
Diesel is crippling us at the moment and Dad's work is starting to slow _pale_
Congrats on the job!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
I know what you mean, it looks like quite a few people on the boards are struggling at the moment. Thankfully now I have the job I should feel a little better off. Mainly because I have managed on so little for soooo long any extra will be fab! My Dmp payments should treble, so I may add in an extra bit of wiggle room to my budget just to make things easier. Does that sound bad? I want my debts paid as soon as possible but I would also like a life!
Hope your Dads work picks up soon.DEBTS @ 1/1/07 - £25,800:eek: DEBT @ 04/05/11 - NIL

Hello Ex !
Long time no speak, how are you?
I know you are right about the gotta have a life thing, I just feel that if I'm going to be working full time we (me and DD) should at least be able to have a treat now and then. It's been really hard slog for the last few years and my DD has gone without a lot. I just want to be able to treat her now and again and not always be saying no we can't afford it! Figured I would add an amount for school lunches and childcare into my budget even though i won't need either. Then at least we will be able to have a holiday together. What do you think?DEBTS @ 1/1/07 - £25,800:eek: DEBT @ 04/05/11 - NIL

I'm grand thanks. All ticking along with the DMP. It isn't going anywhere fast but hey I'm a lot better off than I was in Feb 2007 when things were at their worst.
I'm now chasing all sundry with charges reclaims. :rotfl:
Yes I would definitely add in on the budget so that you can have a holiday. I would still think long and hard before going the route of sinking all your new salary in. I know that you should be putting all surplus in but I think if I were in your shoes, I'd give myself at least 6 months of enjoying it or putting it away for a rainy day.0 -
I have decided that I'm gonna give it till january before I contact CCCS. I start work on sept 1st so won't get paid till end of sept and that probably wont be a full wage. I will then save any extra in oct,nov and dec and increase my payments from 1st feb. This will give me a cushion and even factoring in savngs etc I should still be debt free in approx 2 years rather than 7. I'm banking on the fact that creditors will be pleased with the substantial increase and so wont quibble about the extras included in the budget.
Well done with the charges, keep at them!

You are just right Teecee. Treat yourself and your daughter. You deserve it. Are you a teacher now? Or is that Smilealot? I know one of you was in teacher training and the other was into counselling or something. I've probably got that all wrong. :rotfl:
I hadn't been around the site for a very long time and then I thought I'd come back and see how everyone was doing. I got stuck into the bank charges thing and am also becoming very nerdy about other stuff. I'm greatly into No Spend Days now - thats my passion for this week. :rotfl: I've had 3 of them this week. I may venture into the make £10 a day thing at some stage but I know that would become an all out obsession for me. :rolleyes:0 -
Smile is the teacher, I have just completed my NVQ3 Teaching Assistant course. My new job is as a teaching assistant.
I have had 3 nsd too this week which is a bit of luck but only because DD has been away at her uncles from Friday til Monday! Don't think I could manage the £10 a day challenge though.
It's lovely to have you back Ex you always did make me feel better about things and its great to see how far we have all come since we started over a year ago.
As I always say Knowledge Is Power!!!
Gotta go to bed now as I'm starting to get blurred vision!
Nite Nite Ex, Speak Soon
