Just had some good unplanned but worrying news. I'm Pregnant! Although initially terrified about consequences with money as DMP was going quite well only 2 out of 13 creditors accepting reduced payments. I am wondering what creditors are like accepting reduced payments? Does payplan have a minimum amount that you must pay them for them to distribute to your creditors. Trying to consider the pro's and cons of returning after the baby full time or part time.

  • Mogminnie, congratulations! I believe Payplan's minimum payment is £100.00.

Teecee, well done on the medal (I want one!) and the new job.

Carlos, good news, hopefully things will be a lot easier for you now.

Adam, don't worry about the snotty letters etc, it's par for the course and they will stop eventually.

OH has a payrise soon (albeit very small) which we were going to add to our monthly payments but with the ever increasing cost of everything, we are going to have to keep it this time around.

You have a long 8 months ahead of you, worry about the return to work later its not a decision I feel you can make until they are in your life because they come along and bulldoze all your plans in the nicest way possible :rotfl:

Even if your payments fall below what Payplan expect you can always go it alone which after a year with payplan would be pretty easy - so stop jumping a head and enjoy this time because peace will be shattered shortly

    aww thanks for asking.

But pretty pants actually (let me whine for 5 mins!) its day 5 of the antiobioitics the itching has gone a little well to the point that will power works. But it is so sore, swollen and red. The only pair of shoes I can wear are a pair of reef flip flops which are normally like slippers. But they hurt I have had to put talcum on my foot to stop it rubbing on the strap so much.

If this doesn't work apparently they will admit me and inject the veins directly or something. At that point in my head I was going la la ala la la and ignoring them lol

Whine over - sorry! Everyone in the house is sick of hearing me moan, I can't walk my puppy so I am still a tub of lard when I supposed to be working on being the next Kate Moss rofl!
  • Hi All,

hope you're all well this morning. I am having another panic! I still haven't had my bank account details or even confirmation through for my new account. I am thinking of going into a different bank and opening a new one in person as I expect the problem was me applying online at a new address and having to supply a load of ID via mail.

Will there be a credit check on me for applying to open a new account- ie will it look strange that I am trying to open more than one at a time?!

They do a credit check if it was a basic account it would be more of a yeah they exist check, if you apply for another bank account in person that would be better. As you apply tell them you want basic then they basically just look to see you exist and give them a nice story about a leading competitior letting you down, taking their time so you thought sod it I will come to you - kind of thing they love taking business of someone else!
