  • Thanks GhostHunter and Rayday2 I have been okay not getting bothered by idle threats etc but just seeing their threat in bold black underlined letters this morning coupled with a bad nights sleep due to one of my conditions has unsettled me. Going to send off a letter to them with official complaint at the top. I would accept it if I was ignoring them and not keeping them up to date. Rayday2 just off to look at that link.

Good for you, its always easy for us not reading the letters but like you say you don't have to take it, you either let them get you down or you get even with them.

Don't forget in your letters to make some demands if they are breaking rules now is a good time to insist on interest and charges stopped, and them to look at what the CCCS are offering and take it!
  • Ok here is my re-jigged SOA I have excluded my husband as the debts are just mine and I only have his £317.52 Tax Credits at the moment:

SKY REPAIR PLAN CANCELLED IN MAY!!! Saving £6.58
  • GH, yes the £30 is a month and separate to the food budget. With the £30 we get all the animals' food for the month and ear drops for the dog, treats, and all the other bits and pieces he needs (the cats don't need anything apart from food!) oh and flea/worming tablets.

    :)

I have no idea what I'm talking about!
  • GH, where is the food budget?

Also, we had the £31 Sky package but got rid of it and went to the basic package which is £16. I hated it at first but it doesn't bother us now (less rubbish to chose from) .. we did want to use freeview but we don't have the aerial required outside and it's too expensive to have installed.

Also, you may not fancy this but we cancelled the dog and cat insurance and instead put the money into a savings account each month. That way, you are earning some interest and when it builds up you can pay vet's fees (you may not have any, so the money would build up anyway). I know some people would rather pay this for peace of mind however.

Also, you can pay council tax/water over 12 months instead of 10 which will release a few quid.

    :)

I am stressed and fear that a door stop collector appearing at my door will make me ill or do you think i should leave it be as it is unlikley one will appear and it is just one of their tactics.

This is just a scare tactic, even if they did send someone, there is absolutely nothing that they can do, so don't worry.

GH - if you are paying out for sky package (and don't/can't cancel) then get your broadband for FREE from sky

We went onto their speak, see, surf package - and actually pay £5 a month for broadband as OH wanted the large download option.

You pay about £11 for BT line rental, your sky package and then can get internet for free, as well as some free phone calls.

We had no problems changing over (although I think there is a one off fee to pay for the router).

  • Hi

Thanks to all replied so far.

Dog insurances I am inclined to cancel them alltogether but not sure whats round the corner, the put aside idea is good but wont work in our circumstances I fear however strict we are. They both male 1 lurcher cross and 1 greyhound cross so feel need insurance as they are high energy dogs, couldnt afford to get them fixed if they hurt leg etc! May speak with hubby see if he will take on payments, their his dogs anyway I wanted a springer spaniel or a King Charles (or something smaller and more manageable).

Checking tie ins for telephone and internet as I would like to switch (even if it means losing Tesco Clubcard points (valuable to us) ;) )

Gas & Electric have dug out bills and see they estimated a few back in January and April so trying to figure out if thats whats caused the debit to be so high have no clue whre to start?? I quoted wrong (my appologies) the total outstanding Debit is actually £303.36 (not £400) :o

Must get the DMP proposals sorted and sent sorted today if anyone can advise whats realistic as Credit Cards are hounding me. Got mobile & landline ringing at same time!

    Thanks

Light bulb moment December 2007 and thanks to this site I have got a hold of my budget and have been trying to pay off debts, but have got so stressed out with the phone calls and demands and texts etc. that I've decided to complete the onlline form with CCCS to try and take some of the pressure off.

Any and all advice gratefully received.

  • Tesco Telephone as far as I can see no tie in :)

Tesco Broadband tie in until February 09 :( or I can pay £70 to get out early

Does anybody know if I switched to Sky 3 in 1 whether they would take on the ditch fees?

    Thanks
