  • GH, racking my brains here for you. I see what you are saying about the pet insurance, it's a big expense if they need treatment but if you are on benefits, can't you get treatment through the PDSA? Might be worth a look.

I would sit again with the budget, but first forget about the creditors and write down what you need for priority bills/food.

Also, don't worry if your income drops at some stage because they creditors will have to accept a lower payment. You can't give them what you don't have.

Misspixie, glad you got it sorted. Everyone seems to be in a pickle with something at the moment!

    :)

GH - if you are on IB doesn't that make you one of the vulnerable cases where the gas and electric have to try sort something out for you? Can you ring them and explain that your only income is IB and you can't afford such large payments and what would they suggest?

Not sure if they would just suggest prepayment meters or whether there is anything else they would do?

  • Dogs, we do have a PDSA or Blue Cross but its over an hours drive from us. I have to question myself is that fair to expect a sick or injured / dying pet to indure? We did it once for our fist dog when he had to have a tooth removed and he now has a car phobia as he was sick all over the journey.and we were expected to have him there by 8am for day surgerey and collect him and bring him home after 6pm

Leaning from experience putting the money aside just wont work, with all our best intentions we will still falter, stop paying, dip into the funds or worse still not be covered for accidents!

E-on just told me to contact job centre for benefits office for 3rd party deductions. Did this they said eon needs to contact them direct (and they know this) to sort it out. Not sure it can be done on Incapacity Benefit alone sure someone mentioned have to have Income Support, something I am not entitled to!

OH income fluctuates drastically! Most of what he earns goes back into the business and the cash in hand often goes into van for diesel or stock and pet food.

Looking for ideas for shopping/food bill estimates.

Pink sparkle if you find one can you pm me the link please im interested as well.

    Many thanks.

Another day almost over and still I not done the DMP :(

Ghosthunter you don't have to get rid of pet insurance just do a quote with money supermarket and see if you can get a more competitive one. I think I mentioned before I got my two moggies and a small non pedigree dog insured for £7 something a month.

gilligansyle - Hello and welcome to the board. Well done in taking your first step. :T We are all here for you. If you need advice or help, just shout. Sometimes you do need to shout as everyone is talking at the same time and sometimes a post can be missed. My head is spinning just tyring to catch up on this afternoon's activity. Jvic - I don't keep statements either.
Misspixie - That is good news. Well done. :T

Rayday - your poor foot. My brother had to have his elbow drained at one stage. I was there when they did it - I'm the family member who everyone calls when they want to go to casualty for some reason.

Ghosthunter - When you tried CCCS did you include your OH's contribution (the WTC or whatever it is) in the figures? If not I would suggest that you go and do another debt remedy and include it. See what that brings up. Don't worry they will not ask you where you are getting money from. Just list as contribution from partner or something. If by doing this you create a surplus you may be able to get a DMP with them. This will make your life a whole lot easier. You can somewhere down the line go it alone but it would help you to do this right now. Feel free to tell me to sod off if you like but it's just a thought.

Rayday, is that for the 3 animals? Where is it from? I recently cancelled insurance on 2 dogs and am looking for a new policy.

Pinksparkle and Ghosthunter have a look at the Moneysaving Old Style Board for info on food budgets.
  • That's a good price rayday, is that all three?
