Its a good compromise, you can both be happy. The only pet I have had to have put to sleep was one that was not insured but to be honest he was so poorly and we never knew that he would have to have been put to sleep anyway, he didn't even make it to a year old.

Hence guilty mum syndrome and 2 cats and 2 dogs. The puppy is on a different policy to the other 3.

It depends who his debts are with (original debts, not which DCA's they were passed to). He really needs to get a bank account with a bank that isn't related to any existing debts to make sure they can't offset his money to pay other debts ;)

    Hi Everyone

I need a little help with my self managed DMP. All my letters have gone out with my SOA and offers for repayment.
This morning I received a letter from MBNA stating they had received my letter and they want me to call them! Do I have to? I did state in my letter that I wanted to do everything in writing to avoid confusion.
I also received a thick envelope from HSBC. The first page was a letter accepting my offer of repayment for my personal loan. Behind this there is about a dozen pages relating to a managed loan they want me to take to cover my loan, my card and my overdraft (which is in dispute). The cover letter says they won't accept my offers for repayment unless I take out this loan. I don't want another loan! This loan would increase my debt-free by date by more than a year! How can they accept my offer with one letter and then state they won't accept my offer with another letter all in the same envelope!! I am a bit confused to say the least.

HSBC are proving to be the cause of most of my problems at the moment. I am still trying to recover nearly £800 in charges from them. Long story but back in November they called me and said they were cancelling all my automatic payments as I had exceeded my overdraft two months running. Then a few weeks later, they charged me between £25 and £125 for reversing all the direct debits and standing orders they told me they had cancelled. Now they are claiming they didn't tell me they were cancelling them even though I have a letter from them that, to me, clearly states they were. They are arguing that the phone call and letter have been totally misconstrued by me and have kindly offered £100! Ooooooh I hate them soooooooooo much!

OK couple of things there singsaling - first one stick to writting letters I never have rang any of my companies and I believe this is why they accepted very quicky they couldn't bully me.

Ignore the managed loan this is one of the tactics they do and they are renowned for it whether self managed or with CCCS this is what they do. Ignore what they send you don't sign anything. Just send the payment. (You send payments whether any companies accept or not - apologies if you know this).

Keep on with the reclaiming charges, if they are offering something they know they are wrong.

    Morning

Have not had dealings with HSBC but I know that this managed loan is a favorite of theirs.

Do not take it out and , no doubt , someone with more knowledge of the working of HSBC will be along shortly.

Stick in there with them and it sounds like they are aware of the letter they sent you and that is why they are offering £100. They would not do it out of the kindness of their hearts.

Good luck and good morning to everyone :hello:

Singsalsing - if you were on a DMP with CCCS they would tell you not to take the managed loan as this as it is effectively taking out further credit (though the bank would say something like restructuring finances ).

Check out the interest rate they are trying to tie you into ;)

Wait until others agree the DMP and then you can complain that they are the only ones asking for a new loan etc.

allocated as paying to the creditor and they have put it in my budget as family loan (just like someone else mentioned earlier)

So although it's not included in the DMP i still have money left to pay it albeit outside of my DMP, i think i might give them a call actually and see if i can negotiate some kind of a better repayment plan because i cant afford what they are asking right now, Its a nightmare though because they wont speak to me they only speak to my mum even though my names on the card aaaarrrggghhh

Just be careful about your mums credit score. If you do not keep up the minimum contractual payments you risk her score too. I know my name isn't on my dads card but I don't want to wreck his score so make sure I keep up with his minimum payments outside the DMP. If CCCS allow it in you budget, you should be able to afford the minimum payments. It's not easy, but we wouldn't expect it to be. All I'm saying is be careful.
