It is for all three animals, the excess is about £50 which was what I figured I could find at a one off push and I save £25 a month to cover the injections, fleaing etc so I could use that.
It is a basic policy only covered for a couple of thousand pounds but to be honest if a pet needed that much treatment in value with children in the house would it be right to keep them on treatment.
These are all judgement calls we have to make, so apologies if I sound a bit callous in mine.
Anyway money supermarket are pretty good then I double check the cheapest to make sure its on quidco as well0 -
Hi Ray
I know exactly where youre coming from thats what I have thought in the past. Will definately be taking a look at those comparison sites and about time I joined this Quidco everybodys so keen about.
Yes CCCS income & expenditure sheet did include Tax Credits. As I show above we have a rough surples of £212. but that wont include food/shopping bills or any additional payments to E-on to clear our debit with them. Let alone anything else that crops up (haircut, clothes, presents etc).
And as the news is just about to mention fuel prices are due to rise 35% (more than predicted) were stuffed! Especially if income drops even further for us
Decided to stay at home tonight, we (hubby and I) had planned to go to cinema on Orange 2 4 1 ticket but cant afford to now. Just bought P&G sim car on half price offer in Tesco yesterday to allow us a night out now thats wasted as well.0 -
Evening
We were on page 5. Do you all have lives or something? :rotfl:
Rayday, do you mind telling me which company your pet ins is with? The one I just cancelled was costing me £30 a month for 2 dogs and had a £100 excess. I just want something really that if one of them got hit by a car and needed an op.0 -
Just had a look in my file and its a company called "healthy pets" all they do is pet insurance. I have been with them a couple of years now and when they put the fees up its only about 50p a year if that. But again must stress non pedigree moggies and a pooch who is classed as a small dog 10kg.0

Well done for recognising the need for some help. I struggled on for another 8 months thinking I could sort it out myself (and really seriously couldn't because I was in waaaaayyyyy to deep)
I second this.... Been doing the same thing until last week when finally admitted the state I was in.
Have the letters printed up and ready to send off with token payments while I sort out my pro rata offers, feel I have the confidence to go it alone with thanks to all of you on this forum and am going to get everything sent off tomorrow...after opening a new bank account of course....
Can I say a HUGE thanks to everyone who has got me through the last week. I know there are difficult times ahead but you have all really lifted me
from that rock bottom of panic I was in..... genuinely and really, really gratefully THANKS TO YOU ALL.... xxx :T0 -
I remember a quote from a book I read when I was a teenager
'anyone who ever gave you confidence, you owe them a lot'.

I love posts like that, its such a journey and its so encouraging for others going through it to read that you can feel better so relatively quickly (although I appreciate it does not feel like it at the time). There may be problems ahead but you are strong enough to deal with them and there is always loads of people around to help if you ask.0

Rayday, you are an absolute star. :j I just did an online quote and it told me £7.87 for the 2 dogs. The site did crash as I went to the application bit but I'll try again later.
VS&S, you've come along way in a week. Yes there will be difficult times ahead for a while but it will settle down. You only need to look back through the thread at Rayday, Smilealot, Teecee and myself. We were on here 18 months ago just starting out and it was all a nightmare. These days we still have debt but it is well managed and we don't have continual sleepless nights any more.0 -
wow thats not bad, I did go for the budget bronze (is it?) option, touch wood never had to claim but they seem Ok just no fancy TV advertising etc. Actually I think I did have to claim when our cat got salmonela and we have had a renewal since and it only went up pennies. £400 the cat cost us she was in for a week - or would have cost us if it wasn't for the insurance!0
-
Yeah thats for the bronze. I'm only taking it to keep the OH happy. We insured a cat for 13 years and never used it once. We've had one of the dogs for 7 years and the other for 2 and have never claimed (touch wood). Personally I would do without insurance but the OH panics and worries in case we ever have a dog needing £00000s worth of treatment so I'll take this nice cheap policy which will shut him up and cost less than what we had been paying. :j0
