    Hi guys
thanks for the messages of support, it is appreciated. I have no idea how long before I hear back, so will not start to think I didn't get it until a week or two has gone by. However they really want their christmas temps starting in the next week or two (), so....

I am still awaiting my latest niece or nephew. Bubs is now 9 days late. Poor sis is starting to think she will have to have bub in hospital which isn't what she wanted.

The interview sounds rather interesting, Chev, and quite promising.

As Beanilou says, it's not over 'til the fat lady sings. ;)

Good Luck to your sister - hope she's not waiting much longer. :)

Well I heard back and didn't get the job ho hum. Feel a bit deflated really but I am not sure I would have liked to work there. They thought it was ok to phone up a customer you had sold to to get them back in the store to buy something for an upcoming event. My immediate thought was that if a company did that to me I would probably tell them to go an play with the traffic! Maybe that is just a British thing but even so I thought it was a bit over the top.....

Still no sign of sisters baby yet. She is a bit sad as she wanted a home birth and of course now they are suggesting that she will have to be induced, which means hospital

Oh well, sorry to hear that you didn't get picked, but as you say, their methods seem a bit dubious. I suspect that the salary would have relied on 'performance related incentives' to bring it up to a decent wage.

Hmm; the object of the exercise is to achieve a healthy babe and a healthy mum - sometimes that means hospital is the best place. Yes it's disappointing at the time when Mum's birth plan has to be changed, but it's really such a small part of being a parent that the frustrations are soon forgotten (my eldest wrecked all our desires for scented candles, music, soft lighting and the comforts of home, by insisting on lying transverse despite being 'turned' twice). The upset of Mum being admitted to hospital is nothing compared to the possible alternative of birth being the parents' only experience of their child.
In my day; hot curries, brisk exercise and s*x were the favoured methods of trying to get labour started - sometimes they worked. ;)

Thank you baby is gorgeous and mum seems to be doing ok so far. I think she is a bit shell shocked at how much of her day is now devoted to doing baby things. LOL.

I must must must do some of the blanket today.
Last day of the holidays here. Phew.

We have had a belated birthday party for DS1 and that went well. Had 6 boys here in the afternoon all madly playing on computers! And out of that we have another sleepover happening on Saturday night. So fingers crossed that that goes well as well.

No jobs. Well that is not true. I am a bit fed up with it at the moment. I put in for a job at the local supermarket and didn't here back. So went in and queried if I needed to do anything else to be considered, and got told to fill in another form. !!!!!!. Sigh if I can't even get a shelf stacking role what flipping chance do I have.

Sorry you didn't get the jewellery shop job Chev, but an interesting experience for you! Good luck with the next jobs you apply for.

We are going to have to start the job-application process in this house as DH was made redundant on Tuesday. We sort of expected it, but it was still a shock when it happened! He got a pretty good pay-off, but if he can get a decent job soon, then we will have a stash of cash to burn....I can but dream :o It's going to be odd having him about the house ...I was just getting used to having both boys away at Uni :D

Good luck again with your job-hunting...I'll have my fingers crossed

  • Hello chevalier

I have NO idea why I haven't been on your diary before, so apologies for that! Have now subscribed!! :D

Haven't read through all the pages, just the more recent ones. You've been on quite a journey I have to say!!! :)

NZ is somewhere I've always wanted to visit. It looks beautiful. We've relatives out there. And one of my friends daughters went there a few years ago (took a year out, fell in love, since married and has had baby no 1!! Think she's been out about 5 years now!!!)

Managed a holiday to Australia a few years ago. Tis a beautiful country. Absolutely breathtaking :)

Fingers crossed for you for the job hunt. You will get something. What's for you won't pass you by :D
