Hope your son gets better soon..whooping cough is awful myself and 2 of my children had it 30 years ago..the youngest only being 3 weeks old at the time..there is a massive increase at the moment of it.

hope the physio goes well and that you have some luck soon on the job front x

Good luck with the physio chev, hope it gives you some relief.

 to the whooping cough, hope he doesn't have it...nasty!

I had the problem with being "over qualified" too. When asked why I was applying, I just said I had kids at school, so only wanted part-time work. That seemed to work most of the time...that and becoming a play-leader at my son's playgroup, training and working running parallel, which helped me get back into the job market. Just keep on plugging, and you'll get there in the end xx.

Yes he did have whooping cough and is now on 14 days of antibiotics. The annoying thing is that the test took so long to come back (a full week and that with me chasing), that he probably doesn't have the virus now, but still had to have time off school in quarantine, cos that is what the protocol says.

We also as a family have to have antibiotics for 7 days as a preventative measure...oh joy.

In other news I have applied for more jobs. There suddenly seems to be part time work available that is at the right times of the day. Yeah. Had a couple of knock backs but at least they have said thanks but not thanks. So have had some feedback even if only negative.

And I have got through to round two of being a xmas temp at one of the big warehouse type stores so keep your fingers crossed.

Also in the UK if you have a rising 12 year old ie they are 11, would they be starting secondary school right now, or would they still have a year of middle school left to do

We have had 2 cases this week - very distressing illness - rise due to vaccinations not being taken up maybe?

Would depend if local authority still had a middle school system - some do. Most however start High school in the school year that they will be 12
