hey piq thanks for dropping by.

Not much to report, DS2 had d and v just before breaking up for Easter, so it was delayed a bit as giving him chocolate would probably have been a bad idea. Then DS1 and hubby have had the same thing to a lesser extent so ho hum.

Last year Oh agreed that I could have a week off and go to Wellington. But then it all kicked off with my dad and going back to the UK twice, so I didn't feel that I could ask to have another week off then. But now I have asked for it again, and he has said to book it :j. He even said that I could hardly say that the time I had in the UK, was restful so woohoo. Now just have to decide on the dates. I think I will have to accept that the weather is going to be pretty pants down there now, so will have to just enjoy the ambience of the city rather than do much out doors stuff

  • Dear Chev,

It seem like you have been having a really hard time of it lately. I'm sending you positive wishes and (((((Chev))))) across the miles.

I thought I would make loads of new mummy friends when DD was born three years ago and I dragged myself to groups where I could meet them, but it never worked out that way. People come into your life for all sorts of reasons, and when you're lonely it is hard, but I think Piq is right. Just give up trying and before you know it, someone will come along and you'll just click and it'll feel like you've been friends for years.

Good luck - I'm thinking of you

Thanks PBS. I have given up really. At least doing the volunteering I get to me some other adults for a chat if nothing else. Some of what the other volunteers have done though make your hair curl!

Boys are in holiday club today, so am having a book reading session. It is all go on the weekend as both boys have their first rugby league game of the season. DS1 has his first game of league ever so am a bit nervous.....

Volunteering is a good way to get out and about and you're chatting to people even if they are surprising you!

My daughter plans to move to New Zealand. It's not something I talk about on my diary because I don't want her to go. Naturally, I've never told her this, she is an adult and must live her own life, but the thought of her being so far away is saddening.

Will the time in Wellington be 'you' time? I think that's a lovely idea, maybe mooching around soaking in the atmosphere, drinking coffee and visiting galleries will help ease your soul a little.

Piq thanks for stopping by. I am sure your daughter will love it. And of course once you are debt free you will have somewhere free to stay on South Island!

Taxi and beanilou thanks for stopping by nice to see you.

Well I am a proud mummy today. Both boys league teams won. DS2 won 7 tries to 6 (they don't count points). But DS1 team won 42 - 0. This is ace as before the start one parent was saying how they didn't do very well last season. DS1 wasn't on for very long, but as it is his first season, the time he is on the field will get longer, as the coach gets to know his capabilities better. Main thing was he didn't fluff the two throws he caught.

Congratulations to the rugby players. :T:T

There's nothing like watching your children playing in a sport they love. Mind you, beware, you may develop the rugby-mother's voice...it can be very loud!! (at least mine was/is!!) :o

Have a lovely trip to North Island.

I'm making my own trip to Northern shores this coming week for 15 days...including a few days over in Orkney, staying with Pippi, should be great fun! Just need to get rid of this nasty cough so I can enjoy it all.

Well we have finally got our act together, and got DS1 the bunny he wanted for christmas. It is a grey and white dutch dwarf bunny and it only 6 weeks old at the moment. So it has to stay in the shop another week and a bit. But he is very cute, and I can tell DS has already fallen in love.

I have been desparate to get him a pet, as he needs something that will be just for him. DS2 isn't very empathetic sometimes, so it will be nice for DS1 to be able to give something cuddles etc. Am off to pick the hutch up now, and then OH can build that on tuesday when he has a day off.

Really hope this all works out, and the DS doesn't get bored of it when the weather starts turning.... This is a bit of a leap of faith....
