We used to have dutch rabbits when my children were growing up. They were lovely, very affectionate and loving. They're easy to clean out as generally they use one corner for their toilet and provided it's swept out each day doesn't take very long at all. I used to put newspaper underneath so it could just be lifted out.

As a bonus, we had a large run we used to move around the garden and rarely had to cut the grass! Also the grass was lovely as it was fertilized by the dropping.

You could always post a photo....

As soon as he/she is home, there will be photos galore! the baby rabbit formally known as tiny (it was the runt and had to have separate bunny time with its mum so it could feed), will be probably known as Storm once it is home. I love how gentle DS1 is with the bunny too. Bless. He is having to learn that pets have claws and teeth, lol. He was quite shocked when bunny gave him a nibble!

In other not so nice news we have had hair infestations ewwwwww, so many chemicals and conditioners combings in the next two weeks. Was a bit embarassed actually because I had never had them as a child, and this is the first time the boys have had them either, so didn't know what the problem was at first. DOH.

I meant to add that rabbits can be house trained too, they'll happily use a piece of newspaper in the corner. My sister had house rabbits for years. One of the rabbits came from a litter we accidentally created when the children put a girl rabbit and a boy rabbit together :o

Don't be embarrassed, they only go for clean hair, contrary to popular opinion!

Bunny has had his first night with us. We had him in the house, as he was born in the pet shop, so hasn't had to deal with fluctuating temperatures yet. So I am hardening him off like you do plants. :D. He is very cute. Have put some carrot and apple in with him now. He is just looking at them so far. So maybe I should have cut them up a bit more? He is only a small bunny. Will see how he gets on today as it is..

the other little critters are going thankfully. the shampoo first then conditioner and a critter comb seems a good combination. Was a bit hacked off though, the dr thought it was just eczema on the scalp and didn't catch 'them' at all. It was the hair dresser that alerted me to what it actually was. Talk about embarassed.

    Morning Chev

The instructions for photos are on the stickie for the sealed pot challenge. Sorry, I have no idea how to post a link to another post.

The bunny is gorgeous, so sweet! Rabbits gnaw so he will be able to gnaw away at the larger bits of apple and carrot. He's probably a bit surprised at everything that's happened in his world and is just taking it all in at the moment.

Hi Piq I think you were right. We got his run last night, and OH put it together this morning. He has loved being in there, lots of bunny jumps as well as running around in there! The next door cat came to see what was what, so I was glad we had the run!

Still nearly had a disaster as DS1 (bunny owner), decided to get the bunny out on his own. So opened the bottom hutch door, then the door to the run - but there was about a ft between one and the other. Then he got distracted and assumed the bunny would just hop into the run on its own! Luckily OH looked up just then and saw bunny happily flolupping around in the garden, so saved!

Today is ANZAC day in Australia and New Zealand. It is the day that is used to remember those who died at Gallipoli (mainly), but also to remember all those who served. As my DSs are a cub and a scout, they are expected to take part in the march past. It was quite a moving service, made all the more emotional for me as it was this time last year that I had flown back to England to be with my dad. Can't believe it is a year already....And only a few more weeks until the 1st anniversary of dad passing....

However I am going to be an aunty! Little one is due in September, so a bit of nice family news for once.
