thanks wordsmith. the body shop stuff is about 4 x as expensive as over here so yes it is an investment.
My dad got given a tracheotomy yesterday. this is mainly to do with the ventilator tube irritating his throat so much. he is still stable so hope he will be a bit alert when i see him over the weekend....

My mother in law has recently been through something similar Chev and she has picked up rapidly now. The tracheotomy helped a lot and she just got so much better afterwards. Hope your father does the same. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I had an object lesson today, in how decluttering and cleaning can make your heart sing. I got my car valetted inside and out. It looks so new now even though it is an old car! And it smells all fresh too. Admittedly it REALLY needed doing having stood around for a year, inside and out, but having been a bit down after leaving some friends, it made me feel really happy.
Is this sad? Or a lesson to learn from.....
I wonder how much happier I would be if my house was really clean and decluttered....

So having spent most of the last week going to sleep at the same time as the boys (8pm due to jet lag), I am finally back on new zealand time.
I had quite a productive day yesterday, though I am sure that is distraction techniques due to worrying about dad.
Just the law of sod that potentially a great house comes up for rent, just when I can least afford the brain power to move....But it is much cheaper than where we are now - over $100 a week, so I am praying it is ok, as I am hacked off of losing so much heat through the windows each winter where we are.
My dad is now they think on the downward slope. They found fluid on the lungs yesterday and he didn't really respond all day yesterday either. Which was not something that my step mum had seen before. I know I had to come back, my boys were really starting to miss me, but I also still want to be there. It is very upsetting.
My OH is all rather uncomprehending about it all. He doesn't do strong emotions really. God knows what he is going to be like if and when his parents get ill...
Sometimes the universe laughs in your face as well, as a couple of airlines have bought out fairs to UK this week that are $600 LESS than what I paid 4 weeks ago. B**stards! Still I needed to be there then.
Right it is earlyish but the boys will be up soon, so off for a cup of tea - with sugar in it for once......
Thanks for the good vibes and messages on here they are very important to me just now
