I remember when DS1 was six and he was making a treehouse with his friend.
His friend dropped a metal table leg out of the tree which wacked DS1 squarely on the forehead.
He came running in with the biggest bump I have ever seen (like a great big purple egg) I tried to keep him calm while I made arrangments to get him up to A&E (it's just a teeny bit swollen darling etc). Meanwhile his Dad walks in and shouts "oh my God look at the size of the bump on his head!!!" - not the most tactful thing to say.
I whisked him of to A&E complete with vacuum packed frozen steak on his bonce. Thankfully there was no underlying damage and the steak defrosted in time for tea :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl:Thank you for that, made me laugh first time tonight. I guess this might be a good time to head off to bed, still with a smile on my face.
Mudbath, he's going back tomorrow to check the plaster and to get the colour thingy on. He doesn't know what colours he can choose from yet, but I'm sure he'll choose black or red if they have that.
Teenagers are so cheerful, aren't they?
Best thing he said tonight was " I'll need a note for P.E. tomorrow" apparently a plastered arm isn't sufficent at their school to get out of P.E.!?
Electra- Happy to help if I can

DH asleep on sofa, so its looks like i'm getting the bed to myself! a nice big super king size - i might get some sleep. DD2 decided that she was sleeping with us last night and i managed to get kicked everywhere that hurt me! DD1 is the same.
I have had a thought that didnt hurt lol - now that DH is a civvie, thankfully i dont have to worry about him going off to war and not coming home - it's a constant fear when you marry a squaddie and that fear is now gone!! My thoughts will always be with my friends and their hubbies but now i no longer have to worry about that part of life!
I think i will sleep well tonight!LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Morning all
Hope those who needed hugs yesterday are better today.
I'm about to jump in the bath and then go to work. Traffic will be interesting I think coming home this evening. I work fairly close to Stonehenge and the soltice worshippers will be out and about later today. At least tomorrow is Saturday so I won't have to go anywhere near it.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I'm off in an hour to drive up to Edinburgh for the weekend so hope you all have a good one. ((Hugs)) to all that need them and special thanks to Pigpen for the lists; my house has never been so clean and tidy!!
Just need some viewers......just my luck someone will want to come this weekend but if they do Mum will show them round. She sold my last house in a week!I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. Douglas Adams0 -

Morning everyone:hello: , things totally crazy here can't really say much yet but PIL have been waiting on the police to arrive for 3 days now but apparently their very busy and don't have time to deal with this problem eventho it is very very serious.
Feeling alot better today as i've done very little flying all week but AF arrived today so i think that is the cause. Went and seen a friend yesterday and was away for a good while so i didn't get a chance to get into the town so that will be done today.
Right time to leave bins down and get DS2 changed and head into town.
Germish glad DS is home, i remember fracturing my arm when i was at school and i pulled the stuffing out to let everyone try it on. Everyone thought i was very  but to be honest my wrist never healed properly and still at times gets sore.
Wanted to ask for abit of advice, with us getting the kitchen done this year i have alway's wanted a dishwasher. My mum thinks i'm mad because the washing tablets cost to much, the machine will smell, cost of electric and in her words they break down alot. Now my mum doesn't have a dishwasher and never has this is just what she's heard. What is your experience with them, godsend or nightmare????Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -

I have had my dishwasher for 20 years, and during that time it has not broken down, but I have replaced the cultery basket and the wheels on the lower pull out tray.
I use standard supermarket tablets, rinse and salt in it, and once in a blue moon I buy a dishwasher cleaner thingy bottle and run it with that in. It can smell if I have not run it for a while, I normally run it about 3 times a week and only when full, and no wooden stuff as the heat cracks the handles.
I have never thought of actual cost of running it, ie water, and electic, but I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon.
Last night, I removed very thing out of the airing cupboard, chucked out all old stuff (it is now new stuff / rags in the garage!!) and stacked all wanted towels etc back up, I have loads more room now.
