    That's a brilliant idea Natalie.

Depending on how many pages there are you could do your mum and dad as a double page spread - maybe when they were about 21, and then the grandparents on the next two sets of double pages and if you had a picture of them around 21 too, that would be perfect.

Oh I love this site, it gives me so much inspiration :)

  • BTW Ladies, if anyone's interested - 8x8 album kits (album&inserts, a few stickers and sheets of paper) are £2.59 in Home Bargains at the moment - just made one up myself from a mini-break. Not great quality, and some mis-spellings / American spellings on stickers but OK as a little project for yourself.
  • hmm i have everything i need to do some scrapbooking (and more) maybe it should be my new years resolution to actually do some. Fab thread though and some lovely sites.

Ok you lot are far more creative than me :) so please can I pick your brains.

What should you include in a scrapbook based on families and family memories.

Going to have a bit of a project with some children at making a blank/template scrap book for someone else then to fill in.

    So far I thought:)

Things like places for family pictures
    family memories
    family traditions
Things I like/love/find funny about my family?
    pet page
    favourite things page
    favourite place page
    Maybe some poems??

I am soooo uncrafty it is unreal but going to have a try. :)

Not sure if this helps but last year I did sort of ''Our family'' scrapbooks for my two sons. I did them as a sort of family tree.........printed out images of trees and stuck names and dates etc. on the trees. Then followed on with photos of various grandparents, gt.grandparents plus mum and dad, birth certs. etcand added bits of info about them that my kids wouldn't have known. Also added pages for them with their photos on, one of them has 3 children so they were added along with places I knew they had fond memories of and any info I knew that they didn't.
I carried it right on to marrying current OH and could have added so much more but they were so thrilled with it.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Why not have a look at the pics you have ?

I had a pic of my daughter with spa bol ALL over her face so done a page reflecting that.

What about firsts ? First holiday, first day at school, etc

I used to post on UKScrappers, maybe have a look there for some inspiration ?

Thank you all for your ideas. Some great ones there. The thing is the book is to have pages with titles and then the recipient will fill it in (didn't explain myself too well did I???). It is a charity project. I think the firsts idea is nice too and the family tree has given me some ideas.

Not sue if it will work but I'll give it a try :) Might even have the inspiration to make my own :)

    Thank you again.
