I have also called Onetel Customer Services with regards to cancelling my account and moving over to JustDial.
The Onetel Rep said that she would move me over to the tariff offering Free Evening and Weekend calls for the next year free of charge if i stayed with them.
A credit of £3.99 per month would be applied to my account.. Don't need to change providers now!!0 -

Not much point in moving people its the same company that runs it.PF.0 -
daveonline wrote:I have signed up with just dial to get free W/E and evening calls, i also use the international call checker when i need to phone Spain.
My question is if i now phone Spain using a company that comes up on the international call checker ( the numbers usually start 0844 etc ) will this be routed via just dial so in effect i will pay twice for international calls or will the call be automatically routed via the company that comes up on the checker. ???
Many Thanks.
The best way to dial 0844 numbers in this case is to use the BT overide code 1280 and send these calls via BT.(You will only be charged once on your BT Bill)
If you use 1899 and use the 0808 access number calls are only 1p a min to Spanish Landlines(+ 3p connection Charge).PF.0 -

Yes they were part of Telco Global, which was taken over by Onetel.
They are all part of the Centrica,Onetel family. Which is up for sale and includes BG Telecommunications and Ratebuster as well.
I do hope that cos Martin MSe has recommended JDS people dont start using their other products as well EG Justdial, thinking they are good value. :cool:PF.0 -
Dustsucks pointed out a reason to move from Onetel to Just Dial Saver Lite, which seems to have been missed. Also, unless my figures/understanding is wrong, 1899 isn't cheapest for calling mobiles from landlines. I've worked out costs to O2, other networks are different, (just to make life easy).
Normally Just Dial are a fraction cheaper than Onetel to call an O2 mobile from a landline. It's the bit from the Just Dial site about price caps that's interesting.
"Calls to UK mobiles are capped at a maximum of £0.20 off-peak, £0.15 weekend
for up to 20 minutes, the normal pence per minute rate then applies. Calls
costing less than £0.20 off-peak, £0.15 weekend will be charged as standard."
1899 charge a standard connection fee of 3p, and 10p a min for weekdays, and 3p a min for weekends.
So to call an O2 mobile during evenings, Just Dial costs:-
1 min = 10p
2 min = 20p
3 min = 20p
4 min = 20p
up to 20 min = 20p
For weekdays using 1899 cost,
1 min = 13p
2 min = 23p
3 min = 33p
4 min = 43p
5 min = 53p
It's the same at weekends, Just Dial Saver is cheaper than 1899.
If you don't call mobiles from a land line, then stay with Onetel, but if you do then there is a reason to move.
Just Dial is cheaper than both 1899 and Onetel for off peak and weekend calls from a landline to O2.
I'm sorry, life's too short to work out if it works for other networks.
Hope this helps.0 -

Not if Onetel are waiving their monthly rental though.
Excellent point about JDS capping mobile call rates off peak.PF.0 -

As Martin says, if you have free mobile minutes, use them to call mobiles.
I haven't, and my daughter is away at college.
I could call her on my PAYG mobile for 25p a min, or use Onetel for 11.75 a min,
or use Just dial for around 1p. I hate calling mobiles from the land line, but it happens all to often now.0
