The minimum call charge does not apply to the Free UK evening and weekend calls which are totally free with no connection charge (not to be confused with 18866/1899 which charge a connection fee and then 0p/minute.

Thanks Normski. Not sure to which plan it does apply to - they're non too clear are they?
Oh well find out soon enough, I'm signed up now.0 -
I'm tempted to switch to JustDial (currently with TalkTalk) but I'm slightly worried that they sound a bit unreliable.
Anyone who's used them care to comment on the quality of their service? And also the call quality?
Thanks

It may also be interesting to note that calls to mobiles off-peak and weekends are capped: "Calls to UK mobiles are capped at a maximum of £0.20 off-peak, £0.15 weekend for up to 20 minutes, the normal pence per minute rate then applies. Calls costing less than £0.20 off-peak, £0.15 weekend will be charged as standard."

ive just called one tel to cancel my contract to switch to just-dial's 'lite scheme' as recommended by martin - and they have given me 6 months of free evening calls!
they have changed my tariff to the £3.99 option of free evening and weekend calls and will credit my account £3.99 this month and £19.95 next month to cover the 6 months - not bad hey - saves hassle changing provider and messing around giving out card details etc
IM CHUFFED !!
hope this helps someone else.........
clare
ps. i told them why - due to 'just-dials lite scheme' - they are aware of cheaper providers so want to hold onto good standing customers - and she said to call again in 6 months to see what offers they are doing then...i must make a note in my diary.........0 -

Like Dustsucks I've been with Just Dial Saver since Martin first suggested them ages ago!
Apart from very similar problems when they changed their old package to the new 'Lite' package they have been fine - I'm glad our perseverance with them has proved to have been worthwhile!!
I can't find JDS's current definitions of Daytime / Evening / Weekend, but in the past they were the same as BT - which is now 6am to 6pm. I have e-mailed them to get an answer, but am still waiting............. I guess that is the one hang up with them!
I've also asked for their current costs to the dreaded 0845 and 0870 - again, still waiting.
It is worth remembering that while 1899 charge 3p connex plus 3p per minute for 0845 and 7p per minute for 0870 at all times, BT charge 3p per min daytime and 1p per min evenings and weekends to 0845 and 7.51p(!) daytime, 3.75p evening and 1.5p per minute weekends for 0870 calls. They do have have a minimum call charge of 5p though so you might have to do some pre call maths to work out the best way!!
Although to be fair how many calls to 0870 are you lucky to only be on for 3.5 minutes!!!
