  • Hi all, I am right royally cheesed off.

In haste I converted my collected points from over the years (as one lot was due to expire) into Cosmos vouchers. We now have #945 pounds off a holiday- which I thought was great.

However, even looking though the brochures and expecting the total price to be, um not cheap shall we say, I nearly dropped the phone when Cosmos qouted me prices.... Turkey and Bulgaria for 2 adults and 3 children AI in August 2009, for a week was #3,600!!! Self catering was #2,700!

I think that's disgusting to be honest- I usually manage to get us a holiday, AI for a week for less than #1,500. Once we got it for under a grand, but that was in mid June.

I am so silly for not looking into prices properly- free child places and all other offers are not included when using tesco vouchers.

My vouchers run out at the end of Novemeber. Do you think:
    a) I could get them converted back into points?
    b) phone up Cosmos in November and hope that their prices have gone down due to trade being low at that time of year?

I really dont want to pay more than #1,200 extra out of my cash for AI and a week, but this is silly considering I saved the vouchers up so that I wouldn't have to pay the usual 1,200 I normally do for a week away AI..... meh

Just be warned folks! Trying to book well in advance does not mean cheaper at all!!
  • I discovered the same problem and booked same holiday with another travel agent for much less than Cosmos quoted. I then sent back my Cosmos deal vouchers back to Tesco and they credited my Clubcard account. If you do return your deal tokesn dont forget to send them special delivery.

Ah that's good to know I am both, not alone on this and you CAN send them back. How long do you get to keep your points for after you do that?

I think the plan will be to phone up again early November, see if the prices have changed any, if they are not better, then send the vouchers back.

Another option is for me and OH to go somewhere alone, but that means having to ask around for family to take on the kids- I fear they may forget they agreed.... (has happened before....:o )

    Hi folks,
quick question (I did search but couldnt find it...)

I want to buy RAC cover costing £42.25 but only have £33 in coupons and it wont let me confirm with a shortfall.

Is it possible to use the coupons and pay the difference ??
Or can I order a lower level of cover and then "upgrade" it once the paperwork arrives ??

    Many thanks

We have had a statement from Tesco showing that we are on the Christmas Saver scheme.

Am I right in thinking that we don't really want to be doing that as the points are worth more if taken in other ways?

If so, how do we get off the saver scheme?

    Thanks.

You can update your Clubcard details online as well as doing it via Customer Services - I'm sure the last time I looked you can subscribe and unsubscribe to the various "Clubs" that way.
  • Couple of quick questions:

If I ordered clubcard deals tokens originally for restaurants, can I now change my mind and use them for a weekend break? They have printed on them "when redeemed in participating restaurants this token is towards food only...." but it's still just called a clubcard deals token

Also if the expiry date is the end of November can I have my break after that date as long as the booking is all made and processed by then?

    Thanks very much.

I have just received my card through the post. I have been using the paper card that you get until your actual card comes through. The numbers on these cards are different. Does that mean I will lose all my points now? If so I don't think that's very fair, I've been trying to save points for nothing?
