Last year on March 11th I was in Blyth near sherwood forest as Travelodge were doing a fiver a night deal! That may be the same this year! We had a weekend away for £10 woohoo!0

If we all find our own accomodation we presumebly (Sp?) won't be in a position to cook & will have to go out to eat, pus we wouldn't be able to take advantage of any group booking discounts. Although at £5 or £10 a night we could afford to eat out ;DPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Of course you can attend Halloweenqueen!
I don't know what's happening yet as I am still waiting to see if anyone proposes anything cheaper than the Micklegate hostel, as Fran pointed out that it seems a bit expensive for a dorm to pay £14.50.
I am afraid that in York there might not be much cheaper accommodation than that, especially in the centre of town, as it is a very touristy place, but I am open to suggestions.
Maybe the ideal solution would be for all who attend to find their own accommodation so there is not going to be an issue about sending deposit cheques etc...
What do you all think?

aunty couldn't suggest anywwhere thats cheaper i'm afraid. she having a think, so should speak end of week, and will let you know if she comes up with anything.0 -
Lillibet,
I agree with you re. the cooking, it seems to me not too expensive ifwe get breakfast, bedlinen and cooking facilities. I personally have no problem in going to the hostel but I do not want to be the one who makes the decision for others.
Not sure what to suggest, anyone else got ideas?
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hello all
RE: Hostel or individuals finding their own accommodation.
I am not sure what has/hasn't been decided...
If we are doing our own trip no prob but if we are going to go to hostel maybe we need to start doing something about it...
Just a thought.
