I can't commit to that date as it's my Mum's birthday but once all the arrangements are finalised, may be able to work in a visit for a few hours.
Any chance of a cup of tea for a weary traveller??

If I can make it (babysitters permitting) I was thinking of making bread pudding - set myself a challenge to make enough for 20 people for a quid ;DMember no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Fine, 11th March it is then! Let's get the ball rolling, we need numbers asap. Someone offered to start collecting cheques - are you still ok with it? Please?
If so you might need to collect asap so we can finalise the arrangement!

Before we book for certain, shouldn't we double check accommodation (£14 seems expensive for hostel accom. in dorms, maybe there are cheaper ones?) Also, though it's not relevant if we are meeting in March, it's a pity we couldn't have taken advantage of the Travelodge Tennertastic deal, but it ends Jan. 9th. Looks like some moneysavers are going to be in York at the beginning of the new year.Torgwen..........

I looked at hostels in York and that's the one that people said was ok, but if you can find another one at a better value it would be great!
I think that the YHA charges membership on top of the night charge so it would not have been very economical. Do you know of any other?
Rented rooms are unlikely to be cheaper in York as it is quite a touristy place, and 'out of season' cottages are usually out of town and would just cost more in transport - and would be difficult for those of us travelling by public transport.
Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative?
