frugglewump - What is krupnik and how do you make it???

    Booze :)
Krupnik is a honey liqueur (vodka based). It's lovely stuff - very warming. With all the spices etc we get away with using very cheap vodka and it comes out tasting lovely. (I know how to make vodka but i don't feel like risking poisoning myself by getting the wrong sort of alcohol)

I put the recipe up a little while ago on the recipe thread here:

    :hello:

Yes, I know it's way too early ... but ... I've just begun the November PMS Challenge Thread and I needed to get it linked to for those who wish to begin (depending on your pay date), and I don't know how much/little time I'll have during the day to get that done otherwise :o

    Have a super Sunday

    Hello :hello:

Gosh, you're very good Queenie! I thought that I may well try to join in the Pin Money Savings this month. I really want a hand/stick blender so that I have no excuse NOT to make soup, but I can only really afford one if I save up for it.
You're also very good at starting these threads! I thought that I'd add to it just before I go to bed. I finished my book (borrowed from the library, naturally) an hour ago so thought that I needed to see what other people are up to. :D OH is fast asleep in bed! :)

OH has said that after our Tesco shopping trip, we're going to the "country park" on the other side of town. It should be quite nice as they have a few crafty bits and pieces there, as well as animals, a lake etc.

I got some mince from the butcher's in town, so supper will be spag bol. Mmmmm, yum. I haven't had spag bol for ages - and the rest will be frozen, ready and waiting for another time!

At least with it being half term this week I'll be able to try to get our finances straightened and a menu plan planned.

Have a good day, whenever you wake up.

  • So far I'm all prepared in advance! I have a chicken marinading in the fridge. If it tastes nice, I'll share the marinade tomorrow :)

Will do my cleaning in the morning, then hopefully catch up on the ironing. Hopefully no major probs will crop up to allow me to have a stress free day.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday

    xx

VickyA - Ooh, I hope you do join in the PMS this month (and *every* month after ;) ) ... it's nice to have a goal and to nip and tuck the finances once in a while :D Hopefully, you'll soon have that hand/stick thingywotsit and be whizzing up soup - good luck with the challenge :):)
Have a wonderful day out ... I LOVE craft places (and animals and lakes and ... can I come?? LOL)

arkonite_babe - Great prep work!! (I shall look forward to the marinade recipe ... because I *know* that chicken is going to be D-lish :D )
Any ideas what you'll be doing with your turnip/swede/cattle fodder yet? ;):D

I have the pork joint ready for the oven - but, I refuse to cook it until a more reasonable hour!! :naughty: Veggies all prepared in the fridge; BM has now gone onto timer.

I can't quite go to bed yet ... I have a white wash on - with Mr Q going away at an unearthly hour on Monday morning, it needs to be done, dried, ironed and packed.

I've just got my pork joint out of all it's wrappings so hopefully the skin will dry off and crackle up tomorrow! I always have terrible trouble getting really good crackling for some reason :(

Just browsing round for recipes to make a quick delicious desert that looks like I've spent ages making ;)

BM is loaded up for a malt loaf and WM is loaded up ready to come about 5am, so it won't be sitting too long before I get chance to hang it up.

And I've just poured myself a glass of wine to chill out a bit before bed :D

I have no spending money left for this month after today's shopping trip for bits forgotten so Sunday will be stage 2 of the apple cheese and a lazing around day. Probably a trip to the gym as it has a steam room and OH has managed to get the flu.
Right now I'm firmly claiming it as still saturday - i don't believe the next day starts till I get some sleep :)

    :rotfl: Ok :o;):D

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'd completely forgotten about the ironing. I think the pile is looking not dissimilar to Mount Everest (or Ben Nevis at the very least).

Queenie - I'll pop along to the Nov PMS thread as soon as I've worked out how much I need to save etc.

    Can I play?

I'm off to bed soon. Someone will have to shout at me if I'm still here in a while :o

I've got to be at work at 10am.

Sandwiches all round for lunch I imagine.

Leftover potato & spinach curry for dinner. Well for me anyway. Leftover Chicken & mushroom curry for Mr Q and hopefully he'll make some of his fabtastic chapati's to go with it. The girls enjoyed leftover 'bubble 'n' squeak'so much a couple of weeks ago that they want me to make it especially for them tomorrow :D

Because its half term this week we are not going to do our usual weekend supermarket visit this weekend. We are going to try and 'empty the house' of food. Should clear a bit of the freezer ready for Christmas hopefully.

Hope you all have more fun later today than I will at work :D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
