    Blimey, you're all so busy!!!!

Work as usual today. Went to the gym this morning (so hard getting out of bed!!!), so feel good for that (then its bodypump tonight which I love), got lunch with me, ok, so its not strictly HM, but it means I havent had to buy anything today, which is always good.

Am overdrawn with Barclays by £3.09 so want to pay that & then close the account. (its one I havent used for years & years).

And them tomorrow I shall be marching into my bank and handing over a cheque to settle my loan with them, and I cannot wait!! Yaay!!

Have 50 + items on ebay, a few have bids, but I only listed them yesterday, so will give it more time. Lots of nice Christmas type gifts too

Had a morning on the computer, catching up on emails etc.. Still got more to do, but MSE does distract a bit!!

Chipps - 'Varied' location at the moment is Southern Finland, but it changes. OH has to travel a lot with work, so sometimes it's better to tag along and stay where he's working than have him fly to and fro every week. Finland is extremely expensive for everything, so not an ideal place for moneysaving.

Ms_London - Congratulations, you must be counting the minutes :T

Yep, I sure am. I cannot wait!!! Although my MSE habits will be stuck with me for life, so I know I wont be going down the debt route ever again, infact, I dont want ANY credit at all (obviously aside from a mortgage when the time comes!!).

Ms_London...CONGRATULATIONS!!! Even just your signature is an inspiration to lots of other people. I hope you are v.proud of yourself. Just imagine how fantastically healthy your savings account is going to look in a year or two, you'll have saved up for a deposit on a house in no time at all.

My day is a disaster...am actually home on my lunchbreak from work. Nearly had a crying fit..meeting scheduled for 9.30 am with a director, but he didn't show up. I keep getting work slung on my desk and told "it's urgent, top priority, stop everything else". Then the next day something else arrives and my manager says the exact same thing about the new work. It's a nightmare, so disorganised and badly managed. Then when I was going out to lunch someone ran after me and called me back. Said director was ready for his meeting...he wasn't prepared in time for 9.30 am, didn't bother to let anybody know but felt happy to disrupt lunchbreak...and this is the same person who gave direct orders for what exact times certain people are "allowed" to go to lunch for the sake of the smooth running of the department. It is very stressful having no say about what I do next, what I do first/last/in between, being told to stop what I am doing, having constantly changing and conflicting priorities, being presented with deadlines at short notice, while other deadlines mysteriously disappear, and being left in limbo while people who should know better don't bother to arrive for the appointments they make. I've only been there about six months, but I am already planning my escape, hoping to go to university...will train to do something which does not involve working in an office and which will allow me to have some degree of autonomy in what I do and how I do it. Was thinking of midwifery...am I mad?

Gotta go, have to get back to the coalface. Don't wanna go..._pale_

Thank you. I cant wait!!! First of all I am going to save to go travelling, have recently decided to go in July, but dont think I will be able to save as much as I want to by then, so we shall see. But definately, when Im back from travelling (a couple of years or longer, lol!!) then I'll think about saving for a house, I want to be independent and have my own place (probably easier said than done with house prices at the moment), still, thats a long way off, perhaps I wont come back.

It sounds as though you're having a nightmare at work? Have you been with the company long? I hope things get better. Do your colleagues get treated the same? Is it worth having a word with the Directors?

Im actually really bored in my job this week (an office too), I need to force myself to find work otherwise I'll be sitting on here all afternoon. You can send me some if you like :0)

Blimey Snowy. I've been there - though it wasn't an office. In the end I got so fed up I just did the jobs in the order that I thought best. This made sure that I could do them one at a time and actually got more done than when constantly interrupting myself and switching tasks. Got less complaints about jobs not done and any time there was a complaint I almost always had a "..well so and so said do this (whatever (that I'd finished)) first so I'm a bit behind but your job's next - honest guv.

    :)

SnowyOwl, I really feel for you as I'm in exactly the same situation. I'm bursting into tears so often at the moment that it's undermining my professional credibility. The problem can be itemised into three parts - the company (10%), the job (40%) and my boss (50%). My boss's boss is aware that I am finding my job and boss unbearable, and has asked me out for a drink and a chat, but unfortunately he asked me this last Friday and is now on leave this week so I can't make much progress!

The trouble is that I'm earning a good wage at the moment - well, for the kind of work it is, and in London, it's actually a bit rubbish, but it's more than I could expect to earn if I was to go in at the same level in the field I'm really interested in which is arts or education admin. I've been doing really well to get £6k savings in the bank towards a deposit on a house, but to be honest all I want to do at the moment is resign and live on my savings for a couple of months! I'd take some time out to de-stress and then start looking for permanent jobs, but I suppose that £6k plus intermittent temp work could stretch to a whole year if necessary...

Annnnyyway, enough about my cr*p job and the fact that I was so depressed yesterday evening that I couldn't be bothered to cook any food, so have just spent £5 on lunch - a quarter of my total weekly food budget! Not very Old Style!!:o

CONGRATULATIONS Ms_London on your imminent lack of debt - hope we're going to see you in the Arms tomorrow. Snowy this is exactly why I don't want to go back to work :(

Afternoon all, I've been up since the crack of dawn (8.30) but this is the first chance I've had to switch the computer on. I've driven the kids to their grandparents for the day, folded dry washing, put some in tumble dryer (foul day out their and I have 4 loads of washing to do) and ace bleached the school shirts and put them on a hot wash. Have done the shopping on the way back from parents and stopped at doctors, picked up prescription for eldest, gone to chemist, got it filled then back home. I'm driving DH's car today and it's such a joy driving around in a car with a heater :D

Snowy, hang in there. I've been through patches like that quite regularly, both in my current job and a previous one. Just keep smiling and think of the money

Eventually you'll get there. Keep looking for a change of job, or do as you want and go to uni.
