    Hi everyone , again :D

ms-london - fab news :D You enjoy your travelling, when the time comes. How I wish I'd done that.

Snowy - I too have been there, got the t-shirt, which I know is no help to you at all, but remember that we are all here as virtual shoulders to cry on when you need to rant or moan.

    black-saturn - I don't think I said congrats on your engagement, so....CONGRATS.

I also have had a mare of a day. Not only is the weather miserable so I have to use the TD and have sooooo much laundry to do, but I had major probs with thepc this morning. By 10am I was at screaming point - literally so I just crashed it (made me feel better:)) However, calmed down and headed for the Techie Board, where within 5 mins I'd found what I needed, so I've now uninstalled, reinstalled etc what I need and done all my virus checks etc. In between that, I've emulsioned the hall, stairs, landing and kitchen. Just having a :coffee: then am going to put fridge back where it belongs and refill it. If I need to do 2nd coats, I'll do it later, but I made sure round the fridge was really well done.

Lamb is smelling gorgeous. MATH - you can come here with all your mathlets and madmummy too - this shoulder is flippin' huge. (that's the lamb, not mine :D) Will do pots and veg later, when I can get to rest of kitchen. There'll even be enough for you too VickyA :) Just don't drink all the wine yet, MATH - I made be in need of a tincture in a while. (Heck, what's this 'in a while' bit. I have a fake baileys in me coffee. It's really awful, but waste not want not, it'll do in a :coffee: :D)

Right, off to clear up a bit before Mr TM and the baby meeces return from Wallace and Grommit.

Late getting on here today , out this morning DH doing a gardening job for a friend. Called at Dunelm on the way home, they have extended the store near us, its wonderful......bought fabric and vilene for covering a photo album for a Christmas present, need to get that done.

Man with van coming in the morning to collect the guzzunder beds which are going to my DGD so I will be able to re-arrange my sewing room to gove me a bit more space......yay!!!!! Have two quilts that need quilting along with vast acres of fabric to use up..........just got a book on embroidered handbags... looking forward to making fabric and trying some of them out. Presents for friends in the US I think.........

Left scotch broth in the SC for lunch, while we were out, have just cooked a chocolate fudge cake..... scrummy, cold chicken and salad for supper tonight, late having lunch, so everything else will be late for the rest of the day. Want to put mince in tonight for bol sauce, bought 1 1/2lbs yesterday to cook up.

Dull day, glad I did not do any washing, its forecast to be better tomorrow so will put a load of delicates in tonight, if I don't I will be toiling for nightdresses at the weekend...... only do a dleicate wash when I have enough for a load.

DH planning out what he is going to plant on his new allotment, we are waiting to get it ploughed so we can move the fruit trees and bushes out of our back garden, they are in pots right now.

Off to make a cup of tea, want to watch Paul O'grady see if he picked up another award last night at the TV awards. Hated him as Lily but love his afternoon show....... he has a fantastic rapport with children, talks to them just as if he is talking to a friend and they respond so well to him..........one little boy he has on reminds me so much of my young grandson.

TM, Mrs MATH and I luuurve fake "Baileys U like" in coffee. I was popping into Lidl every other day at one point until we got tough and limited ourselves to a bottle per week:o I thought we would be quids in after stopping smoking but I think we may just be exchanging one addiction for another.

I glaze my lamb with half mint jelly and half cranberry jelly and then use the pan juices to make the gravy. Folks think you've spent ages on your mint and cranberry glaze but it is literally two spoonfulls of shop-bought melted in the micro and brushed on when you remember. If you havn't before give it a go.

Now I've passed opn a priceless tip how about giving my hall stairs and landing a whip over - pale yellow will be fine I'm not fussy. just thought I would mention it before you rinse all your brushes:D

  • Hi Everyone!
Had a mad day yesterday when I eventually got going, I did the jobs I hate most of all, emptied the pantry defrosted both the freezers, cleaned the pantry floor, filled freezers back up and put everything back in the pantry. God I hate that job, as anyone could tell by looking at the amount of ice I got out. Gotta make some space for all the home cooking Im planning and Xmas goodies too.
Also cleaned the windows inside and out, and washed curtains. The windows were not too bad as I have a new super cheap scraper type thing like window cleaners use, and it made it so easy.
In between I did 5 loads of washing, put about half of it in TD and some on airers.
Finally tidied up and collapsed in a heap around 11pm. :D

Today I've been shopping with DD's and my mum. I've got two very savvy shoppers in my DD's, they looked longingly at Bratz dolls etc in Woolworths but decided not to buy anything in favour of the market where they bought loads of stuff for very little money. (Turned out to be a moneysaving exercise as the lovely asian man whose stall they bought copious Indian bangles from threw in a couple of "diamond" rings for free :p ) Its amazing how moneysaving they are when it's their pocket money they are spending. OH doesn't agree with them "wasting" their money on bangles and coloured hair extensions etc, in favour of something decent like a good game or book, but I think it teaches them about how to spend their money wisely and save up for things they really want and how to stretch their pocket money. It is actually money my mum gives them and they know once its gone, its gone. (I dont give them pocket money, I save for them instead whilst they are still young)

Snowyowl I really feel for you in your present work environment. I work in an office too and I know what a nightmare it can be. There are loads of people in my office off sick with stress with all the internal politics that go on. I just go in, do my four hours, keep my head down and come home again. As soon as Im out the door I forget about work until I next arrive there. Something that it has taken me years to learn how to do. My boss however is the exact opposite, what goes on in that office appears to be her entire life, and she cant undestand how unimportant it is to me. Go home and make a cake I say! :p
Right Id better go and put away the ironing mountain so we all have something to wear tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip MATH, I shall try that next time :) I lurve both mint sauce and cranberry jelly  However, the lamb was still melt in the mouth gorgeous. It's nice to know I have a good quality, local lamb and have supported the 'small' business man - actually, he is small too, but very sweet with it :D

I think my fake Bailey's is from Netto's - is by far the worst I have tasted. I don't usually mind the fake ones - might try the Lidl one next time.

Oh, and sorry - brushes already washed and put by. Next time, eh?

I don't like the Lidl one, I find it much too sweet, I prefer the Asda one.

Maybe I'll have to buy them all - purely for the task of taste testing, of course :D

Thanks everyone for your words of support regards work. I got a bit self-absorbed earlier, so it was quite illuminating to see your responses as it's a reminder that many offices are very similar with the politics, secrets, power strategies etc etc. My colleague opposite me has v.similar problems to me...she started six months ago too, her work is piling up sky high and has constantly changing and conflicting priorities. Her bigger problem is that she is temporary, covering a maternity leave. We know when the new mother is coming back but nobody has actually confirmed the date when the temp is to leave, though she is definitely leaving. She has been looking for another job but has had no luck so far, so all that stress and bother when they are about to get rid of her and she'll probably be unemployed. The third girl in the office who does the same type of work as us has been there for about four years and is in a perfect position to help us. Well she would be if she was speaking to us, she is a right humpy cow, took a huffing fit over teabreaks way back in June I think, and has only spoken to us if she has been told to do so regarding a work item. I had complained about her but was told by our manager that it's her "personality". Ha ha ha!!! Offices really are unbelievable. Just to prove how totally absurd I think offices are, back when I had a telly I tuned into The Office by mistake...didn't realise it was a comedy, thought it was a real life fly on the wall documentary because it was so like where I was working at the time, and switched it off.

Ms_London, the directors ARE the problem. They wait and wait until deadlines are imminent then suddenly it's an emergency, and myself and my immediate colleagues have no choice but to bail them out. What a joke!

Tomorrow is another day...might bring my iron in to work and flatten a few bosses' heads.

VickyA, congrats on getting your wedding dress! You must have been thrilled to have made your choice.

    Evening everyone :hello:

Only had chance to skim the posts here so far being as I'm so late online today, but I noticed a couple of you asking about Queenie. She had a bit of a domestic problem with a leaky bathroom ceiling the other night, which I think fell down eventually  ... so I think that is probably why she hasn't had chance to get online today. There's a thread in the Arms about it.

If you get chance to read this Queenie, I hope you're managing to get it sorted out ok hun *hugs* :)

Had a terrible day myself yesterday but thankfully feel a bit better today :D

In light of how I've been feeling I'm quite impressed with myself today as I've made a big slab of Parkin, a boiled fruit cake, a batch of Anzac biscuits and DS made a tray of flapjacks. I've also got a sausage hotpot in the slow cooker, which I'm going to dish up shortly with chunks of bread freshly emerged from the BM an hour or so ago :D

I've also sorted the washing with one lot hanging up to dry and another lot primed in the WM to start around 5am in the morning. I've dusted the living room and DS ran the hoover round for me after I'd cleaned out all the animals!

I'm now chilling out with a glass of wine ... ok, I'm on my 3rd one now but so what ;)

I need to find a way of parcelling up some of the baking as I want to send some to my eldest in hospital. I'm sure he'd appreciate some of mum's home cooking to cheer him up a bit as I know how crap the food can be in those places!

Hope everyone has had a good day and I'll go back and catch up on the posts shortly

    Oiiii stop corrupting me :p

You do know I had to go and buy a bottle of Cointreau this week dontcha (reduced at Tesco's) as well as sampling their Finest 72% dark chocolate (69p a bar so nearly half the price of G&B's ;) ) so guess what I'll be cooking up for supper   :D
