  • I have used Swiftcall for several years, but never see or hear much about it.
...does anyone else know whether their rates are competitive.....or does the fact that they weren't included in Martin's review mean they aren't??!

    apologies, toddler pressed keyboard
    once again
    i'm a little confused
checked price checker for international calls to pakistan mobiles
gives an 0911....... no. charging 15p min... however
    checked in phone directory
no.s that begin with 09 are premium rate and can be charged up to 60p min.
therefore don't understand that if i use my 3 mobile to make a call to a mobile no. in pakistan
    what  i will be charged.
    please help
    thanks ;);););)
Have a look at here and you'll see from the BT price list for numbers beginning 09xxx that this number is truly charged at 15p from a BT phone.  If you're not on BT service (and you are a case in point), you should check with your service provider or mobile phone company.

It looks to me that assuming you have loads of inclusive minutes on '3' you might be safer and cheaper opening an account with 18866 or 1899 who provide you with a geographical access number commencing 020.. and then to call the Pakistan mobile via their services @14p or 12p respectively.

Seem to be beaten every time in Martin's list and http://www.niftylist.co.uk/ - time seems to have left them behind lots of better operators.
  • :(

Charge to call USA has increased from 0.5 to 1p on 1899!
  • thanks, chick lunchbox
will try and open account with 1899 , didn't know you `could open account with them via mobile phone.
i'll just point out that 3 actually charge 70p mon. for 091 no.s
if i make an int.call thru1899 via their 02 access no. will i be charged or will it be included in my free mins.
hope i don't seem to be ignorant, but its just a bit complicated for me to understand.
you see , i spend a lot of time on this site , there is a lot to take in and my brain doesn't seem to function as it used to. :-[ :-[ :-[ :'(:'(:'(

You can have several phones registered with them, including mobiles. Not sure if the 'lead' number needs to be a landline; if you have no access to one, perhaps you could ask a trusted relative if they mind you using theirs - or even pluck an unallocated number out of the air!

To call the 1899 London landline access number, yes it will come out of your bundled minutes just like any UK call, so you'll need to have a reasonable surplus of them for this method to be cost effective.
  • Nice but could the connection charge be listed alongside each call charge for easy comparison and could BT's rates be added for the UK calls at least please for comparison.

The price is still ½p/minute from a BT landline - see HERE.

However, there is another thread drawing attention to 1899's prices for those calling from cable landlines or mobiles.  There, indeed, the cost is 1p/minute to the USA.

  • I have been using Telestunt to phone Cyprus at 5p per minute. I am a Telewest customer and the over ride number just comes up on your phone bill.
    Waddle you do eh?

I have just used the Telesavers 1p per min to Thailand mobile. How much will One-tel charge me for the connection? Can't find info on their website.
