A Mate of mine once cut a veruka out with a stanley knife and then covered the wound up with superglue.

Got rid of the veruka but not something i;d recommend!

Having pondered over this since i repllied before my GP says the best non surgical way to get rid of warts and verruccas is to cut a small piece of banna peel to cover wart/verucca and then hold in place with a plaster. There is something in the peel that when done regularly will get rid of it. This much be changed twice a day.

  • I use bazuka too it takes a few weeks but at least it seals it and usually stays on while in the shower, which means you don't spread it all over the floor when you come out of it. Beware when filing as some can spread. I usually soak my feet and peel the plaster made by bazuka being careful not to touch it, then reapply. Because the salicylic acid ingredient kills the healthy tissue around you're actually removing dead skin, so there's no pain.
  • hi i was told to file down verucca each evening and then told to draw on top with pen...i did do this to my 9 year old, as tried eveything else and not worked, not sure if just co-incidence or it really works but they did disappear......

ive read all these posts - thanks for all the replies :D some useful info. i have one on the sole of my foot  but have plenty of things to try now. :o

one question - I asked the nurse if it was contagious and she said no.... but from reading stuff on the net, it would seem that it certainly is! I go swimming about once a year :rotfl:but do share the shower etc with my OH. should i be looking to get one of those special socks?

has anyone found that some lovely food moisturising cream and cotton socks left on overnight helps at all?

Tried the duct tape on my kids - alright if it is on a toe as you can wrap all the way round but the ones on the soles of the feet the tape just falls off.

Mine got some stuff from the GP - an acid -they have been filing and applying every night - the smaller ones have gone and the big ones are much reduced - it was free too as on a script.
