Have just discovered a verruca on my foot, which just goes to show exercise is not good for you, I wouldn't have got a verruca sat on my jaxi eating Chocolate and drinking wine, would I?
Anyway, I have just been looking for a 'cure' and removal by Duct Tape seems popular and very MSE, has anyone had a go at this and does it work?

Neat tea tree oil applied with a cotton bud or soaked into a small plaster works miracles!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Yes, I saw that episode of the BBC1 'Street Doctor' programme too.
You leave the tape in place and if/when the tape loses adhesion and falls off...............you put another piece of tape over the verruca again.;)10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. I might give it a go then, it won't do any harm, at least.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740

I have 2 warts on my elbow and my doctor told me duct tape is the best way to rid them. Reckons they've done big research and its better then anything on the shelf! You replace the tape morning and night for best results. Now to go and buy some for myself :rolleyes:0

I've had this very stubborn verruca on the edge of my foot for about 5 years, I am 14 now, I've tried lots to get rid of it: freezing, burning, gels, creams and liquid nitrogen. I need to get my hand on some duct tape to try this method.
Duct tape works because it irritates the verruca, causing an immune system reaction that attacks it.
My advice is to remove the tape after 6 days and soak the affected area in water for a few minutes to soften the skin. Use an emery board or a pumice stone to gently file the spot, reapply the tape the following morning and repeat the regime until it disappears.
Hope it helps !!0 -
i have heard about the duct tape method and also using a large plaster with a piece of bannana skin (banana side to the skin) to be affective . i have not had a varaccua since childhood so personally cant vouch for either method, but have heard that the bananna method worked for a friends child.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. My young son had warts on his fingers, which docs wouldnt do anything about, so i used tape on them, took a few days but they went, and have never returned!0
