i have always bought yankee candles from www.yankeedoodle.co.uk and now and again have fab mega packs...
http://www.yankeedoodle.co.uk/x-cart/mega-packs-yankee-candle-c-318.html
i got the least 2 and although they cost roughly £40-£45 each, between the last 2 i have enough bg candles plus samplers and votives to do many many gifts! as well as samplers in this one i got a plug in one, 3 of their premium range filled votives, car air fresheners, scented tea lights, a gel hanger that i put in my wardrobe, a small jar, a medium jar, a large pillar, a big 3 wick candle.... oh just masses and free delivery on it too.
last time there was a wax burner which was broken in the post. i phoned them at 1pm tuesday and the new one arived at 8am wednesday! would heartily recommend them (well, i just did i suppose!)0 -
Hi there all - have been lurking for a while here getting loads of great ideas for christmas but today I have realised it's:125 days until christmas:eek: :rudolf: :xmassmile :snow_laug :santa2: :eek:that may sound a lot to some people but it's not when you've got a list of things to make like I have:Want to make:
a few mini scrapbooks for friends and family
all my own handmade gift tags and perhaps spruce up some plain gift bags
the wooden spoon nativity scene I found on here(my 3 year old will love it)
an advent box for my child with a craft activity for every day with something to do with christmas in each compartment that she can then give as gifts
some home made decorations
some home made fudge
the door hangers - love them rainmac
christmas story book for daughter, niece and nephew with their names in story
anything else I see that I think could make a cheap extra pressieI need to get my act together - can imagine DH is going to get sick of the mention of christmas before long - on the plus side when school term starts I'll have more time to catch up on all this. What are people making for men on here???Will have to go back and read through whole thread - so I haven't missed anything, please feel free to kick me up the backside to push me on with all this.0 -

For baskets you could try Home Bargains, Poundland, Poundstretcher, Dunnelm Mill, your local market, supermarkets sometimes have them reduced.

Wow, you're going to be pretty busy! I have given up on talking to my OH about making things for Xmas as he thinks I've lost the plot doing things for Xmas during the summer. I'm getting on with it and he'll just get a surprise when we hit december and everything will be done - hopefully
Good luck with the door hangers! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Thankyou rainmac. I do have a dunelm mill in the next town so i will try there, as for the rest I dont thnk we have any of them nearby, but I think my mum might have a poundland near her, so will do that on next visit, and I will prob go down to a big market, dont know where near one is but there are big markets that I could go to a bit futher a field. Thankyou for the ideas, much appreciated x x x

Ikea is another place but I think you can often get cheaper elsewhere. Forgot to mention Woolworths too! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Microfibre towels now in home bargains for £2.99
Baskets - when we did food hampers for elderly relatives we went hunting at supermarkets for cardboard boxes and the "trays" they display things in IYKWIM - they were good for the purpose, a lot of them very sturdy, and covered them with appropriate giftwrap. Scrunched up newspaper in the bottom for bulk and topped with one sheet of slightly scrunched up wrapping paper or tissue paper on top of that and bob's your uncle.:T0 -
ahh thanks naturally, thats not a bad idea. Might get nice baskets for mum and dad and sisters and then maybe use you idea, for the family i don't like much!!!!! HEHEHE!!!!Only joking!!! I might do that for everyone and just by basket for mum and dad. Thanks both for your ideas. :-)
